ok im curious because in my family that word is FORBIDDEN. never heard it uttered from any of my relatives mouths other than my brothers girlfriend to my nephew. i overheard someone say it on the phone to someone and for me it's something that isn't said so lightly or too often, probably cause of my family..
ANYWAY, have you ever said it? the three actual words. Love you doesn't count nor does typing or texting it.
has it ever been said to you?
details please
i've said it once in my life and had it said to me a few times
yes
but i dont think ive ever meant it, just confused with infatuation yknow? teenage problems.

i've said it aloud to FRIENDS in a joking way
never in my life said it to any member of my family and never will
and one time a french boy i knew for like 3 days stopped kissing me and said 'je t'aime' and i said 'je t'aime aussi' which literally is i love you, but obviously we both just meant it in an I LIKE YOU kind of way.
never said it, think i'm still a long way away yet
although there are times after doing a certain activity with certain people where i feel like saying it when i prob don't mean it

I don't say it often because idk family don't say it really so it's kinda awkward I guess, think I've said it to two people irl, one ihl if typing counts which it does really in this day and age

Ever since my dad moved out we always text each other every night saying, "night, love you". My mom, sister and I always say it to each other as well whenever we leave the house.
yeah, I say it literally all the time, especially when I'm drunk
say it to my mum a lot, my dad when I see him, my brother, and to my mum's side of the family, especially my granny MMMMM I love her so much she's me but older and blonder
don't say it so much to my dad's side of the family, but not adverse to it.
I say it to my friends, sometimes in just a 'love ya' kinda way but with some friends like a proper I love you but mostly when drunk BUT NOT ALWAYS. especially with my friend who is practically my sister
I've said it to one boy but it was one of those situations when they said it and practically forced me to say it.........

i've said it quiet a few times but only to one person.
never said it to family
I think it's been said to me once (can't remember if it was I love you, or love you)
but yeah I don't say it lightly too and only say it when i truly mean it
I always tell all of my family I love them and my friends that I've known since I was little because I actually mean it to them

Never said it with the I included.
I say love you to my mum sometimes, but that's it.
I've had it said to me a few times as a joke, though.
nope never said it ever haha... dont really say it too my family either though, im not sure if i can remember ever saying it too them. not sure
i once said i think im falling in love with you but i said that because of certain reasons but it was a lie lol! ive had it said too me twice by guys who ive had no emotional attachment too but seemed to be dead serious when saying it lol

I think with family it's already obvious that you love them and doesn't really have to be said. I mean I don't say it to my family cause I don't have to, they already know it and vice versa.
In a relationship it's a different thing and something that shouldn't be thrown around as it can have repercussions, either good or bad ones.

Say it to my friend all the time. When I was younger, I'd say it to my "girl friend" (whoever it was at the time), because I honestly thought I did ... but I was just being young and foolish.
I've told people that I love someone a few times, it was a really intense, unrequited feeling. Possibly extreme infatuation, but I would have done anything for them, and I still would. It's been well over a year. How pathetic of me.

Now that I think about it I don't think I ever have. I don't really say it to my family either, I guess its because we know the love is there and it doesn't need to be said.

In Portuguese we use more then term ''I adore you'' when you talk to someone who is from your family or a friend, because saying ''Eu amo-te'' would just be weird and awkward, eve though kids now have this stupid ''amoro-te'' word which is the combination of the two and just makes me want to shoot every single kid once they say it. So ''I adore you'', I've said it a lot and I guess ''I love you'' too, since I've had a longer relationship, but I guess I was just way too young and stupid lol and anyways I never really gave importance to that word until a like two, three years ago, so yeah, when I'm not saying it in the joking way, I've never said it more than to one person.
Never said it to my friends cause i don't want people to get the wrong impression thinking that i fell in love with them which is awkward and no one has said it to me
Inseriousity.

I'm the odd one out in my family because I tend to hate the affectionate hugs and kisses that get passed around when someone leaves at a family gatherings. I love you is a weird one though, didn't even realise families said this to one another. It's sort of like an unwritten thing that you love most of them and love to hate the others. I've only ever said it in a jokey way when family members pick up on my lack of hugs!
As for dating, lolol no, isn't it the codeword to run away if you say it too early in a relationship and mine have never got to that stage so I've never said it.

Always done the casual 'love ya' or' loves' to my friends, I never ever go off skype to my mum or the phone (or saying goodbye irl) to my nan without saying I love them. They also say it back to me! My dad says it rarely to me, and I think my sister's said it once ever to me.
As for relationships, I've said it before, but looking back I'm not sure if I felt it or not. I guess I'm just questioning myself, noone can ever really know what 'love' is. Not only does it feel different for different people, it also feels different for every situation you say it in; who's to say I haven't been in love each time I've said it? I felt something which I defined as 'love' at the time. Granted, my attitude towards it has changed, but that doesn't make 'old me' wrong.

Me and my dad have a good relationship so I always tell him that i love him, I did use it a few years ago with this girl but I can see now that I was immature at the time and even though I did have feelings it was not love.

I've said love you to one person, I didn't use the I and I think it was because I knew I couldn't say it with the I. He said it to me but i didn't say it back as again I couldn't.
I've said it to my ex and my current boyfriend, my ex mainly went to love you though when the feelings decreased and there were various reasons I said it to my current one so quickly as I do love him well did when I said it as a best friend and it expanded from that. We always say I love you or love you to each other and via a text we never shorten it like I have done previously, its always full.
Me and my sister used to say ba night love you when we went to bed at the same time, my mum always says it to me but I doubt really say it back but I'm unsure why.

I say it to my mum, brother and my friends. Probably too often with my friends which makes me regret it cause they **** me over
I love my OG friends
I've only said the words "I love you" though to probably past females as a reply because they've said it and I don't want to make it a thing at the time. I honesly don't think it's like a forbidden phrase to say, I say **** I dont mean all the time, heck I don't even know what love is

Yeah I've said the big three words, if its to family it's usually just love you because yeah, families not showing no affection is deffo a British thing to be nice is to be cruel! But anyway, yh said it to my ex MANY YEARS AGO and yh it was said back many times.
Oh and also why do loads of people say it JUST cos someone has said it to them? It's not fair lol, I refused to say it back cause I knew I wouldn't of meant it at that stage but finally got there in the end

i pretty much say 'love you, cya later' to my mum every time i leave the house, i don't think i've ever said 'i love you' to anyone though.
with the rest of the family, i usually just hug them without saying anything lol i would find it weird otherwise.
