Right, I'm rather annoyed and my mums pretty angry and upset because of the fact at night someone has came into our garden and cut the wires at night, they weren't even turned on because we had not finished putting them out yet.
The worst thing is you couldn't even see the wires on them because they where hidden and someones done it on purpose, I mean its never been done before and its upset mum a bit.
I mean is there anything you can do? because I doubt the police will do much about Christmas light wires being cut.

Have you tried wiring up the wires again? I mean, a little bit of insulating tape will do the trick, right?
Something like that has happened to me, there was a light up snowman in my yard and someone smashed all the bulbs on it.

I suppose they have to do something as it is vadelisim ( dunno how you spell it) but yh?..
Sounds like a jealous neighbour! I can't see the police doing anything drastic other than asking around to see if anyone saw anything. I guess you could try re-wiring it with tape or maybe ask a family/friend if they can do it?

I'm pretty sure you can contact the police about it, seeing as they've effectively broken your property, but nothing will be done about it I imagine.

a neighbour has definitely done it, but there's no way of proving who did it

Like Kardan said, you can contact the police about it, seeing as they've effectively broken your property, and even though nothing will be done in the moment, if they ever do it again and you do get to either see them or having any other prove against them, then you'll already have another report to stand your case.
Well I say take out the section that they cut the wires to and continue on. Maybe buy an early xmas present for ur parents and get them a Security system :D
