Don't take anything I say as definite but from what I have read:

Everytime you win a "snowflake" it is a token for you to be given a piece of the snowman at random. At the end of the day Mike will allocate randomly a piece for each token, so if you won 5 events, you would be given 5 rewards. They may not be different, there could be 5 of the same piece. However, you may also get some non-snowman pieces, including credits, rep and VIP. The first person to win the 9 different parts of the snowman wins a throne.

Ohhhhh that sounds good, so in the first day if you have loads you could win all nine pieces?

I guess so :D. That would be very unlikely though, as it's also possible to win nothing for your snowflake :P.

I assume so. Obviously I'm not definite though, that's just what I thought it was trying to say. :)

Oh i thought every snow flake was allocated a prize. How many are allocated then does anyone know?

Going by this:

but watch out because some numbers have no prizes!
Hmm I'm thinking maybe there's a list of numbers 1-50, so it's like
1 - nothing
2 - scarf
3 - 10 rep
4 - nothing
5 - nothing
6 - week VIP
..etc

So with each snowflake you're randomly generated a number, and then Habbox Santa compares it to the list of numbers to see what your prize is :P. So everyone has an equal chance, and it's just luck really. That's just my guess, anyway :P.

You could win it all in one day yeah. Entirely possible. There's a 1 in 50 chance of getting each piece though so hopefully the odds will mean it stays a challenge. After the first day we'll review it and make any changes to the raffle so that it lasts as long as possible although we did a Habbox Monopoly for a month where it was a similar thing and that top prize managed to last the whole month (although admittedly it was a lot harder to win the points).

1 draw a day where all 'snowflakes' collected are put through the raffle and converted into prizes.

It is admittedly a little different to the norm but it really isnt as complicated as it sounds. You just have fun, win the snowflakes and let the admins worry with the headache of how annoying this is going to be. ;)

SO lets just say i win 40 events in one day, 40 numbers....i win 40 vips lol... is that possible???/ or like say all my numbers landed on 10c's does that mean i get 400 credits?

hmm if you mean is it 'one' roll regardless of how many snowflakes where it's then multiplied, no. It's rolled again so 40 snowflakes would mean the random number generator would give 40 numbers between 1-50 and whatever comes up, you win. The odds of it landing on the same thing 40 times would be astronomical but if they did then yes that's what you'd win. :)

Looks ok, but really it is just another tournament, you're still competing for the same goal and you have various ways to get there. However, again Competitions Staff and others are at a disadvantage so I guess that's a con but good luck.

It's not really lol. Tournaments are about getting to top of leaderboard. This is about getting lucky. Someone with 100 points who'd normally win the tournament could lose to someone with only 10.

When you become staff, you get advantages and disadvantages. Not being able to participate fully in tournaments is a disadvantage. If it bothers you so much, feel free to resign!

Yeah when you become staff it should apply to each department and not just a few too lmao.

Tournament:

1.(in a sport or game) A series of contests between a number of competitors, who compete for an overall prize.

Not about the top prize :P. It's a tournament regardless of how you want to dress it up, woo a raffle though, wonder who suggested that first ;).

Inseriousity.; that reminds me lol, need to post in the Christmas thread to do my part xD.

It's not a tournament in the traditional sense though. The difference between this one is that you can join at any time and still be in with a chance of winning a top prize.
And again, I got the idea from twisting Habbox Monopoly which was done long before you suggested a raffle ;)

You can still win HxSS, HxEE by coming in whenever and winning, I am proof of that near enough please :(. However, twisting an idea but that same idea was shot down previously, ok then.

However, I do know the tournament ;) will do well :P.

lol you're just arguing for the sake of it now. I've already given you a valid reason as to why it was rejected. :)

Yeah but this could cost you more than my idea would have. I even offered to pay but for the second time my donation was rejected, don't worry I'm just messing with you before you take this to heart ;).

You're still free to donate, I look forward to lots of gold bars from you :)

Inseriousity.; I was just wondering, you know how a few are 'coming soon' such as the Christmas Cracker. Say if you don't play Habbo much, nor listen to HabboxLive and are in Competitions (no one is this I don't believe). Someone could win in the first day, wouldn't that be unfair to others? I mean couldn't they have all been released together, not ranting it's an honest question :P.

Yeah it's only 'coming soon' cos i posted it early as I expected a thread like this and there were early morning events scheduled on 17th

There's a 1 in 50 chance of getting each piece
From some fairly basic initial calculations it seems that the probability of anyone winning outright is minuscule.

Inseriousity.

I naturally want to hold onto the throne for as long as possible. MY PRECIOUS!!!

lolol no because it entirely depends on how many snowflakes are won. I've seen how some calm and level-headed people turn into rabid addicts frothing at the mouth when there's a tournament starting.

oh and it does say that if no-one wins by the end, the one with the most pieces will win until all three prizes are given.

lolol no because it entirely depends on how many snowflakes are won.

How exactly does it work. Does each snowflake in a day go into one raffle or does each snowflake go into it's own raffle?

Inseriousity.
17-12-2012, 12:20 PM
The latter.

Chippiewill
17-12-2012, 12:23 PM
The latter.

Generous odds suggest a 9.2x10^-9 chance of a specific person winning outright.

Inseriousity.
17-12-2012, 12:23 PM
That means absolutely nothing to me lol.

Chippiewill
17-12-2012, 12:25 PM
That means absolutely nothing to me lol.

Well, since 0.01 reflects a 1% chance of someone winning then this reflects a millionth of a percent chance of a specific person winning.

Lol yes I'd love it if it lasted the whole two weeks so I won't complain with that calculation. :D

It would seem far easier just to randomly give out the last piece on the final day.
