I think all events should have the walkthrough off because it's not fair for those who are standing in the line. If someone leaves, then whoever is at the end of the line could easily come first, passing through those who have been ages waiting.
If Events ask EOs to have a long queue for the same reason as above, then the walkthrough should also always be off if it doesn't interfeer with the games. Right?

I agree with this, I saw this happen a while back (not sure if it was a Habbox event or not, though) and it was annoying how one person near the front leaves and loads of people come from the door and get in front of you. However, it's fine if the game requires a lot of people and everyone will still get in, e.g. Falling furni if its not in a small room :P.

Yeah!! I would agree unless its a racing athletics game when you need to over take someone :/ it should be off! Speacialy if the games are long'!!!!

It makes sense to have this as a general rule, but alas, I would have many things as a general rule, but it differs with every EO and there's no real way of enforcing it.
I'd also like to add that black and white are colours. That one really annoys me:
'How many colours are in the German flag?'
3. Wrong, apparently it's two.

I disagree. This doesn't need to be a rule because its general knowledge... it would be stupid if EOs got warnings for this. Also some events don't need them at all, such as Fallin' Furni and Higher/Lower. I think it should be there in most events, but not a rule. :)

I agree with the fact that if it's Falling Furni or Melting Carpets that anyone int he queue will be able to get in, then the walkthrough can be on, but if it's for example Pod Race where only 6 people can play, then the walkthrough should be off since only the 6 first in the line should be able to play.
Also Lol Kardan; that's the most stupid answer. Ofc Black should be accepted as a colour.

You try telling that to all the other EOs.

For some events I do agree that it should be turned off, depending which Higher and Lower it is then I fully agree. Even events such as Jump The Fence could allow walkthrough, it's those such as Pod Racing, Don't Touch The Wall etc. that really need to be more strict with it as I've witnessed a lot of cutters before. Another thing is don't allow pets as some can cheat that way too.
Inseriousity.

EOs are normally sent a feedback pm with Luke's explanation of it if this isn't the case. Not entirely sure a thread was needed but there we are, making these general rules for events just ignores how different events can be. What would be good practice for one event would be impractical in another so EOs are generally trusted to know what'd work and are told about it if it's not rather than creating rules.

Yeah, the two dies H/L could have walkthrough on, the one where only one person can play, no. Also I also agree with the pets thing, they make everyone lag so badly, mainly in big rooms. -.-

In my opinion, from the moment I tell an EO to please turn the walkthrough off and explain what I said in thread, and the EO answers ''I'll turn it off when I open the gate'', a thread is needed. And who is Luke? Lol.

Mr-Trainor; is Luke. Yeah needs to be off all the time not just when gate opens as those who have lost previously can cut.

Oh, alright. And yeah, exactly this. For some people it might be considered as general knowledge or common sense, but when you actually look at it, many EO's don't understand it as such and just make the rules they want.
Even if no one makes an actual rule about this, I think it should be remembered.

No, this would just be unfair. 20mins waiting in queue so those who just came in play right away just because they clicked faster.

Well tbf putting it like that, I sorta agree.
Pisses me off so much when you've been waiting ages and the host turns walk through on :l It should be off unless its games like higher or lower and everyone can go in and play.

Yes what we've been saying. Plus in this case, everyone is telling him to turn it off, and he just keeps turning it on.

Well I think he's just lagging but its off now. Anyway it should be common sense to keep it turned off. If a host doesn't, then just send a pm to alex and he will speak to them.

Yeah but not everyone has that common sense..
Mr-Trainor
20-12-2012, 12:37 AM
I agree that it's more common sense than anything, and a rule isn't required. I think a friendly reminder, which I think Mike said already happens anyway, to remind EOs to choose the fair option depending on the game is fine.

Also, whilst on the topic of walkthrough, it seems that when someone is blocking the owner turns on walkthrough and everyone decides to run into the game area at once. However, if someone else was blocking say someone who isn't staff etc. they would get kicked and this is also common sense to treat everyone equally or as near damn it.

I have my walkthrough off at all times.
Absently
22-12-2012, 02:33 PM
Yeah, I rarely ever turn on walk through unless it's a game where everyone can play. If someone blocks, we have to give them a warning and if they continue to block we can kick them, I think.
In my events room the Walkthru is on 95% of the time. Only time I put it on is just b4 I open the gate to let people on if theres a limited amount of spaces to play.
Zelda

I do agree but forcing it isnt fair, i remember when I was eo after room options were changed walk through would often be stuck on no matter what I did so you can't rly punish for it if that's the case.
On the point of black and white, white is a colour yes, moreso a combination of all colours, but black is an absence of light so it ain't a colour rly so I don't agree about black.

I agree with walkthrough. It's bloody annoying when you've been waiting for 20 minutes and then suddenly everyone pushes in front of you.
Pets should be banned in all events really as they don't need to be there and they just lag people.

Well I think that Answers that take either way should be allowed at least then lmao otherwise would be unfair on people giving the actual correct answer ;o

Yeah, but Dragga; I don't know what you meant, you said it's on 95% of the time and then you say 'the only time it's on..' :S. But yeah, imo it shouldn't be on at all if the game has a low amount of people going in each time.
Oh and I think it's ridiculous that black wouldn't be accepted as a colour in a quiz.

I still see the problem whereby hosts turn the bars when someone is afk in the queue, if they go brb it's not your fault or those waiting to play so I think regardless of who it is they should be kicked; if they're staff or not, agm or not etc.
If people aren't moving up in the line it shouldn't be on either, nor should it be on whilst a game is in session as someone (not knowing walkthrough is on) could wait a space before the gate so they don't get diagged, someone else could then lose the game and just cut through :P.
