I believe they should be extended to prohibit linking videos or other services with advertisements which the person who links the video profits from. e.g. posting a video on youtube by yourself which no one gives a **** about yet you make money off through partnership programs.

Naturally it's sometimes difficult to determine motives I believe this should be aimed squarely at a specific user on this forum who's sole purpose here seems to be to profiteer off the users of this forum.

People prefer different forms of entertainment. If you want to ban 'certain' videos then ban all forms of linking to other websites on here too, and mentions to products because people are making money from them.

Weighed up to the costs to run it and also how much effort goes into it, its pointless.
Also disagree with the rule, it would also be near enough impossible to determine who is doing it for the whole purpose of making money

I think you make a fair point but I think it would be too hard for the moderation team to determine their motives. In the past I've made videos and posted them on the forum but not for money making purposes but who's to say I'm not secretly earning money, you don't know if I'm a partner or not, obviously views could determine that but you'd be going off a guess which isn't really fair. If it was in black and white I'd be all for it.

Understand what a hellban is. The user is added to a "Global Ignore" - Even if he posts, you can't see what he posts. I've also made all of his access masks to "no" so he can't even see any of the forums to be able to post in anyway.

I believe he just posts videos on here to be annoying so people will watch his videos, insult him, his views will go up for the wrong reasons and he gets popular, just like now for example, center of attention :P. I don't know if Matt made the right decision but if we're discussing why he has been put on the ignore list then I reckon it should be put down to constant advertising, not being annoying. We can't just block someone from the forum because they're massively disliked, even if that is their intention. No I don't agree with Jasey not being allowed to post, I didn't know he'd had this treatment as well because I've simply ignored everything he's done for the past year or so like people should do with Brad if they dislike him that much. Surely in that case he should have been asked not to do it if he was breaking a rule? and if it was deemed unnacceptable then banned? While Brad can't post at the moment. Do we allow people who do YouTube videos just to post all of their videos to get views/money/hits and what not and not interact with the community altogether? I don't think people should ever be stopped from posting, I think if they have done enough wrong/broken enough rules then banned fair enough after warnings etc, but I've never understood why people would be put on ignore, because why not just ban them if they have supposedly done wrong? Only for swearing related offences, but he was actually quite nice about that and was sorry about it when I contacted him :P It's never really been a rule to not post youtube videos of yourself dancing etc, and its not really advertising anything so idk what the problem is in all honesty. but yeah, this is way too sudden in my opinion :P

i guess not. there have been occasions in the past where i've been told to remove gifs because users have complained/deemed inappropriate though.

He does interact with the community, usually trying to defend himself when people completely bomb him for his threads (which he posts in spam anyway)

I don't see how you could notice all this "extreme trolling" and somehow miss his many posts and threads where he referred to the variety of medications and diagnoses he'd had, as well as having an entire essay about why he acted the way he did and put it down to his mental health problems
