Does anyone have any tips on an exercise regime and healthy eating? What I mean is how often I should eat and how little portions I should have that will also help me with energy for exercising, I've tried just eating very healthy but finding myself not having much energy so I end up just sitting about. I do find it hard to shift weight anyway so any help would be appreciated.

Drink water, drink loads of water. You'll feel less hungry.
Easy.
Your metabolism is going to hurt you somewhat, look at your mum - you emulate her. It's all in your gene pool, though you can lose the weight if you try.
I find it best if I deprive myself of sugar - thus leading me to feel like crap but after say a week my body gets used to lack of sugar in my diet. I then have more energy. I just drink water - eating then becomes easier as you're able to eat healthier without feeling like you're low on energy.
I fill myself up just by eating a lot of healthy food. Though I'm sure you'd get the same result little and often.
If you're still eating microwave or in-the-oven meals don't eat any of those. Boil up some vegetables.
Cardio alongside that will shift the weight drastically. You see a lot of people go the gym and just mess about - not achieving their true potential. If you go to the gym REALLY train hard and you will soon reap the rewards.
I myself hit 14 stone (I like to keep about 13.5) so I simply stuck to this and waheyyy it worked. Being at work all day helps me now though as i have so much to do I have no time to eat :P
EDIT: Laura said not to drink too much water as it can cause water retention and needs balanced out with food. & Remember healthy foods often contain a lot of water.. e.g. potatoes
EDIT EDIT: Me and Laura were talking about 'Will Power' and we've both agreed if you truly truly want to lose the weight you will. It's all mind over matter - how much do you want it?
It's like me and the gym (not that I care much or go much anymore) but I wanted the results so I worked my arse off every single time I was there. You can do it, anyone can!!!!!! :D
Intermittent Fasting.
Eat food within an 8 hour period (Healthy obv) & drink ICE COLD water/black coffee or diet soda for the rest (16 hours). Yes you will feel hungry, but you will shed weight with the right exercise.
Currently in my 1st week of doing this and have lost 2lb
Eating less food is not the right answer, it's eating the correct food with the correct exercise.
Long walks are nice and easy but also effective if done regularly.

Watch all them, get educated innit. Contains swearing :)
Good luck! Ciao.
I would recomend using the app my fitness pal!!
Use this to get a rough idea how many calories you are eating and how many you are burning. This means you can see if you are eating more than you are burning.
Basically energy/calorie input should match the energy/calorie output to maintain weight. Use this basic idea to modify your diet and exercise.
Often people who don't normal use the gym on a regular basis brisk walking for an hour is the best way to lose the weight along with the healthy eating.
Also think of it as eating healthy not a diet!!
Do cardio exercises, cycling, walking, swimming or anything that helps you burn calories. Water diet or soup diet works too. Eat lots of vegetables and fruits. Develop a healthy diet and don't skip breakfast.

Don't skip meals or fill up on water, that's a really silly thing to do! Just make sure you eat heathily, and don't eat tiny portions either, because you'll feel lethargic (which it sounds like you already are a bit). It'll take a while after switching diets for you to feel well again, but if you combine healthy foods (veg, lean protein, non-sugar carbs) with excersise then you should be good to go!

Definitely right about most of the water you need being in decent foods, but I always thought that water retention happened because of a lack - the body holds more than is necessary because it realises that you're not giving it enough regularly and it goes into a sort of panic retention mode which causes the body to gain "water weight"

Don't eat less portions and at the same time make sure you have treats every now and then so you don't have blow outs! You can still eat your carbs, fibre and have things with calcium in but with moderation. Just because you are on a 'diet' it doesn't mean it can't be a diet that is healthy and something that you can continue to do for the rest of your life! For example my usually day consists of 40g All Bran with 275ml semi-skimmed milk and a heck of a lot of fruit for breakfast, maybe some more fruit between breakfast and lunch then a jacket potato or omelette for lunch with a nice salad and pickles. I'd usually have a yoghurt after that with some more fruit and then I'd have like a frozen curly wurly or a few biscuits. Then whatever I fancy for dinner. Homemade meatballs with less than 5% fat content. Steak and homemade chips sprayed with frylight instead of oil with some seasoning of garlic powder, paprika etc. It's the little changes like that, that make the biggest difference!
I find the weeks that I eat more things like potatoes, pasta and when I generally eat a lot more food are the weeks I have lost between 4-7lbs! Then the weeks where I eat small portions and I don't treat myself to say a couple of rich tea biscuits in the evening with a cup of tea, they are the weeks that I only lose 1-2lbs or sometimes even STS!
Water is key but if you want something fizzy go for the diet drinks (my particular fav is diet cream soda). Also exercising will be your new best friend along the way. Just because you lose weight and are thin it doesn't mean you are healthy. You can have someone who exercises all the time and is a little overweight and they would be much healthier than a thinner person. Things such as Fartlek Training can be really good for burning off calories and swimming for toning purposes can be good! Cardio, gym, even just going for a walk so you are not on your bum all day will make you that little bit more healthier and will help you down the road!
I have been taught this over the past eight/nine months and it has done wonders for me! I have never felt so energized and as a result I'm losing weight healthily and at a steady pace!

Aw first of all, no one should tell you what to be eating. Everyone likes/dislikes different things, so if you're eating all these things you don't like because you think it's healthy, you won't be able to stick at it. Eat things you want to eat, just as long as you're using common sense and not pigging out on two 350g chocolate bars and things. If you're not happy with the food you're eating while trying to lose weight, the chances are you'll end up giving up and just going back to how you were before. Try making and cooking your own food rather than buying ready meals or ordering takeaways as that means you know exactly what you're eating, how many calories you're eating, how much fat is in it, etc. Plus, when buying the ingredients, check the labels! Some things look super healthy but really aren't.
Secondly, going to the gym isn't totally necessary. If you don't want to spend money on a membership or are too shy to go (I know some people who are), then just do some sit ups, push ups at home. If you're not very good at these, start off just doing five or ten a day and then do five more each day. They'll be easy in no time! Although the gym does get you in the right mood to train 'cause you're surrounded by other people doing the same as you, your body honestly can't tell the difference between lots of fancy equipment and your bedroom floor. It just depends how hard you're working. Find a sport you enjoy doing, too. It can be anything from swimming to yoga to rock climbing, just as long as it gets you out of the house. There should be some classes at your local gym or just try looking on the internet to see if there's anyone holding some classes you may be interested near you.
Make sure you get plenty of sleep as this makes you look and feel much healthier, therefore motivating you to do more things throughout the day, and drink plenty of water to replace things like fizzy drinks and coffee. Although coffee keeps you awake and energised, it's not great for if you want to be healthy.
Try and see if any friends want to lose some weight too so you could try and lose it together. Doing things as a team often motivates you to keep going and enjoy it too because you don't want to let anyone else down.. You could almost turn it into a competition or something? You're much less likely to drop out if you're with friends because they'll want you to keep going with them!
Sorry for the essay lol and I hope this helped :)
Stick to normal meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try not to snack too much in between meals. Drink a lot of water, you'll start to find that you're less hungry if you substitute snacks with drinking a lot of water instead. Cut down on how much sugar you have - stop having too much fizzy drinks/chocolate etc. if you have any at all atm. Try to have a more balanced diet. Try to do some form of exercise as well.
Try to focus on staying healthy before you try and lose a lot of weight as this will help motivate yourself to go in the right direction to losing weight unlike being unhealthy.
