ok well for the first time in my whole 7 years at habbox i've actually read the rules. rule B6 got me thinking. the rule is:

B6. Do not sell, trade, donate, share, buy or have more than one forum account. - We will not tolerate accounts being shared, sold, traded or donated. It is also not allowed to have more than one account (unless your original account is permanently banned). Any accounts that are being shared, are for sale or have been sold, traded, or given away will be permanently banned.

I'm focusing on the "can't have more than one account" thing. the thing is, i have loads of other accounts that are all inactive and never used. does this mean those accounts should be banned or is my current account meant to be banned?

or doesn't it really matter as no harm is being done?

They will most likely get merged

i'd assume the rule is more targeted to users actively using more than one account. because you have inactive accounts, i wouldn't think that would matter since you're not using them. you could probably get them merged with your current account (as i believe that's allowed) tbf.

I think it means all the other accounts should be banned or merged with your account now - that's what most people have done. I get why the rule is there and stuff, but it seems a bit strangely worded seeing as it's not exactly true, seeing as people have been banned on another account but able to re-register and 'start afresh' with a new account (I never understood this, it's like completely letting them off with their old offenses).

Another big flaw in this rule and clashes with rule whatever-it-is... if someone is fed up of their username but not VIP they can surely just create a new account with the desired username and have the old one merged in? That's what I can see (if it hasn't already, which I think it has) happening.

I use to ask the user which account they wished to use rather than banning the newer ones unless there was a decent reason for the new account. I think I only did this because that's how I got told to do it but did question it from time to time.

I see the rule as more for people who make another account and decide to use that rather than people who have old accounts and never go on them. Most of the time if thats the case you will most likely be allowed to get them merged. I think in the future if I see any accounts I'll just go ahead and give the newer account 24 hours notice that the new account would be banned as it breaks the rules.

Seems more and more people are creating new accounts for a different side to them, which i find to be strange, cerys for example

I think people have pretty much answered your question. If you do have any accounts that you do own and aren't banned then just let one of the Super Moderators/Forum Administrators aware of it and then we can ban the inactive accounts. Merging only comes down via request and it's not something we offer 97% of the time.

seen people make new accounts because they dont like their name, and have been allowed to keep them. which completely goes against the name change T&C

That shouldn't be happening and I'll make sure it doesn't in future.
