The shape is nice but the text colour isn't. I don't have ms paint so can't edit them myself to see what they look like but would it not be a better idea to outline the white text in black instead of a darker version of the fill colour?

I think its a nice idea in practice and it was really good of the graphics department to make them and to everyone involved and stuff. I think the main problem is just that the majority of this forum are older members who have been around for a good period of time, and so naturally get used to things like this and I guess its part of what makes Habbox unique. Habbox would be nothing without its community and I guess its just nice to involve everyone when it comes to userbars and stuff. I remember the last time they changed, people came up with various designs and stuff and it was discussed and it really was a positive thing and was great for everyone to get involved and get behind it.

I personally am not too keen on the current designs, but I guess some people might be. I liked the shape of the old ones and felt it made Habbox that bit more unique from other fansites who use the standard rectangle with in your face colours etc. Ours was a bit more sophisticated I guess. As I said, it was a good idea, and If you do keep them then I guess people will just have to get used to them- but this is quite a major change really and it just sprang out of nowhere to a lot of people.

In terms of mine, I have three stacked on top of each other and it looks like a flag or something, wheras before I felt posher :( Idk if that makes sense

I loved the old ones too, but I guess thats because I was around when they were being changed and stuff, and it just all felt so fresh. I don't really ever think they became stale or boring. I guess if change was wanted though then as I mentioned, it would have been nice to put it to the members, rather than throwing something at them :P

I'm pretty sure last time people were asked to help design them, because I remember having a go myself LOL

You can't access that forum, I'm not even sure why they even show that to people. I do like other fansites for their Habbo skins - We have a nice selection of "Non-Habbo" skins now and I feel we need a new default Habbo skin. The problem we have is, we keep skins for a very long time - We never get rid of the rather old ones and that means user bars will not always match.

Mods still have their mod userbar despite having vip colour, I moaned at Matt for ages a couple of months ago and refused to change it. Seems Chris has been an awesome forum manager and fixed it.

There is nothing wrong with the actual graphics themselves so don't be mean to the staff member who created them. The problem is people just don't like change or the style of the user bars for the skins that Habbox has available.

I'm with Will here. It's not the fact that we're against change (or at least I don't think 80% of the people are) - it's based more on how compatible the User Rank Bars actually are. The last ones went with everything really; these one's just don't. Am I right in thinking that they're just the old ones with the circle bit removed from the left (made so they're fat to cover it), filled with the gradient the old ones had anyway, with the removed colour from the middle which stays the same on them all and then added volter text?

A completely fresh design would be good and I do think a competition would be great, but have competitions worked in the past? Will it work now do you think?

You can't access that forum, I'm not even sure why they even show that to people. I do like other fansites for their Habbo skins - We have a nice selection of "Non-Habbo" skins now and I feel we need a new default Habbo skin. The problem we have is, we keep skins for a very long time - We never get rid of the rather old ones and that means user bars will not always match.

This! I'm sorry but you really just need to delete the classic skin, for the six people who still use it tell them to move on from 2005 as they have no taste, the people who like the classic skin properly are the kind of people who wear flares.

The rectangle userbars were REALLY nice I just don't think they worked on the forum as it is, and it's not fair on the graphics department and whomever designed them to say they were awful because they really weren't, they were nice as standalone graphics and would work really well on another forum. With various features on here they just didn't look right! I did think that we needed an update on them and I do have an idea which I will be entering!

The problem seems to be that the old ones actually highlighted the title while these new ones seem to drown it out with the background - by the looks of things you're just showing off stripey images, rather than the title of that user. What do the new ones look like with shading (and possibly black) around the writing? The old ones which were popular had this style and were readable.

Another problem is that the background also hides the pip image (e.g. the snow flake in the Christmas VIP userbar).

What also makes no sense is that management have different userbars to other users which just looks untidy - you're meant to maintain the same basic style, not have two types. If anything it looks like management hate the new userbars but wanted to push out a new design, so they deliberated to keep the old style for themselves because they find them superior to the new ones which break a load of basic graphic design rules (writing in the foreground, with a background to help make the writing stand out - this seems to of gone ignored with the writing becoming part of the middle-ground).

A small note:
Graphics Competitions simply do not work. People always suggest them when they dislike some new graphics but forget that most of the time the people most capable at making these images already design for Habbox. If you yourself lack the talent to design images, chances are that nor can many other people.

If anything it looks like management hate the new userbars but wanted to push out a new design, so they deliberated to keep the old style for themselves because they find them superior to the new ones which break a load of basic graphic design rules (writing in the foreground, with a background to help make the writing stand out - this seems to of gone ignored with the writing becoming part of the middle-ground).

A small note:
Graphics Competitions simply do not work. People always suggest them when they dislike some new graphics but forget that most of the time the people most capable at making these images already design for Habbox. If you yourself lack the talent to design images, chances are that nor can many other people.

Shall I confirm what I have been saying for the past few posts then? The competition is there for people to create user bars that they think would suit HabboxForum. Any entries would then be put into a poll and I assume one of the options will to be go back to the "Old" ones and even an option to keep the ones that are currently applied. You keep saying these bars look like they have been created by a 6 year old, the ones we have had before weren't exactly any better or looked like they were made by a much older person at all.

If these ranks are really causing your forum life to have issues then feel free to adblock them out for the time being.

It seems Chrome doesn't want to refresh your ones :P The others have come through though.

They do seem a bit bold on a white background, come to think of it :/ The old ones were nicely hollowed out to focus on the usertitle and the pip image related to it, now they're blended together which might be an information overload for some people.

That said, I wouldn't call them ugly or disgusting. They're quite nice.

Why does it matter? They are small images that do not affect the core functionality of the forum. You can still use the forum like you have done for the past X amount of years of you being a registered member. The user bars are staying in place until the results has been decided, not going to mess around deleting and uploading the old images if we are then going to go to something else. It can wait.

They aren't affecting anything that you can do on this forum and isn't a big issue whatsoever. They are image ranks and they are staying in place until the results of the competition has been decided/sorted/announced.

And to be honest, I'm also not a big fan of these userbars. First it annoys me that I can't see Purple and Teal VIP with them, and second even if I could, I'd still think they look pretty ugly ad too much ''fairy'' like (mainly the Pink and Christmas ones).

don't see myself spamming either, asked several times for it to be reverted to the majority decision, lol keept telling yourself that. It's not effecting me however i'd rather look at graphics that suit the current skin than something designed by a 6 year old playing about with pretty colours etc. That coming from you has lost all meaning ;)
