BBC have a small article about it:

Four men arrested in London in Syria terror inquiry

Detectives investigating the support of alleged terrorist activity in Syria have arrested four men, Scotland Yard has said.

A 33-year-old man was held at Gatwick airport on Wednesday as he attempted to take a flight out of the UK.

The three others, aged 18, 22 and 31, were arrested at separate residential addresses in east London.

They are all in custody at a south London police station while searches at the properties continue.

So it's not necessarily a terrorist attack on a plane at Gatwick (or the airport itself), but an arrest on someone who is wanted for questioning over links to Syria?

Correct. Gatwick is mentioned as one of them was going on a flight or attempting to.

But there wasn't any terrorism in the end, otherwise we'd probably know about it.

This is exactly the sort of sinister policing we now have in this country where a vaguely named and scary piece of legislation such as the Terrorism Act is used to arrest people on all sorts of charges. It's the reason why I dread another terrorist attack, not simply because of the death and damage - but more so because I know we'll be sure to lose yet more civil liberties and freedoms as the great unwashed call for Big Brother to protect them from something you can't be protected from.
