Teen Shooting Killed 5 People, Including 3 Children

A 15-year-old boy remained in custody Sunday night as detectives tried to piece together what led to the shooting of his parents and three of their children who were found dead in a New Mexico home.

Authorities identified the victims late Sunday as Greg Griego, 51, his wife Sara Griego, 40, and three of their children: a 9-year-old boy, Zephania Griego, and daughters Jael Griego, 5, and Angelina Griego, 2.

Authorities said each victim suffered more than one gunshot wound, and several guns were found at the home, one of which was a semi-automatic military-style rifle. Investigators were trying to determine who owned the guns.

If it turns out that the teen killed them, and the family owned some of the guns on the property, then it just goes to show that you still aren't fully protected on your own property even if you have guns for self defence. Of course, we'll have to see how this one turns out, we don't even know the teen did it yet. Usually when you hear about a family shooting, it usually ends up being the father.

How awful, another seemingly mad teenager - what i'd like to know, and what we'll be unlikely to find out, is whether or not this child (if him) was being given proscribed drugs as so many are nowadays. Because there certainly seems to be a big link between the two.

Nobody claims guns to assure your safety, nothing after all can 100% assure your safety. You can buy the safest car known to man along with the extra add ons which make it safer, yet you can still die in it 5 minutes after driving away from the car dealer.
