Depends how important your data is really. I know with my SDHC cards I normally stick to Sandisk rather than going for a cheaper alternative but that's just me.

Pretty much ^
Got a 32GB one for £12 like a month ago (sandisk)
I stole mine from my school lost property 6 years ago
its never had a cap
it's all bent and funny inside
and it still works perfectly
basically, you'll be fine, but always save your documents onto a computer and to your usb stick

Dropbox is also a pretty good, free alternative.. 5GB, And you can access the files on basically anything with an internet connection, I backup my most important stuff to iCloud, Dropbox and my external HDD, Just to be safe.

Isn't it common sense maplin is usually always overpriced/more expensive than competitors? :P

PC World are having a massive sale too, you should really shop around
yea, I would definitely buy a good one. My friend had a free one from uni and it broke with like 50k of notes for her essays! She had to pay like 150 quid to send it away for a company to retrieve the information and email her it.

well, yes, but I was working and had to nip in to grab a few bits for the next job... I thought it was a good price at the time :P
I've currently got 2/3 cheap ones (I actually paid nothing for them) which are 2GB and they're still working. However, I rarely use them - but this is a personal preference. I'd probably play it safe and get a named brand.

You should be keeping your data in more than one place nowadays anyway and seeing how cheap USB sticks are nowadays they're disposable IMO. Just go for the cheapest you can find.
