"Ted's always been a gun-toting conservative. But what gets me is that he was actually a draft dodger! I mean, to the point where he didn't bathe for a week, and vomited on himself to deliberately avoid the draft. I totally understand why he did that, but all of these Republicans who love Ted don't seem to know or remember that too well. It's crazy that he's become one of the voices of Conservative America even though he was a draft dodger. If you don't believe me, Google it."

Here's the interview

"I got my physical notice 30 days prior to. Well, on that day I ceased cleansing my body. No more brushing my teeth, no more washing my hair, no baths, no soap, no water. Thirty days of debris build. I stopped shavin’ and I was 18, had a little scraggly beard, really looked like a hippie. I had long hair, and it started gettin’ kinky, matted up. Then two weeks before, I stopped eating any food with nutritional value. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer-stuff I never touched-buttered poop, little jars of Polish sausages, and I’d drink the syrup, I was this side of death, Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. poop, piss the whole shot. My pants got crusted up."

"However, in a later interview, Nugent backtracked on that statement. Speaking to the UK's Independent, Nugent said that he made the story up. He said he avoided the service in Vietnam because of a student derferment."

One of the top comments on the article best sums up what we can all learn from this

"Nugent said that he made the story up."
So he's admitting he's an untrustworthy liar.

What do you think?

I suspect this is an attempted dig at me by the fact that I posted a Ted Nugent video which I thought described gun rights perfectly, so i'm supposed to in this reply scramble to defend Ted Nugent, right? in fairness to Mr. Nugent (who I differ with greatly on many issues) he has stated in the past that he's ashamed he didn't serve in the military - and considering he's not the one starting the wars like the Great Obama (never served) or Romney (dodged the draft but fully backed Vietnam at that timeI don't think he's guilty of the worst sin in the world especially as he regrets not serving.

Just an added note, when I post a video or quote of somebody - don't confuse yourself that somehow that person underpins my whole belief system and that with a thread such as this you're demolishing all of my positions in one quick swipe. Nice try though. :P
