As I feel there is a lack of basketball on this forum I think we should start a discussion thread all about basketball and the NBA and anything relating to basketball.
So to start it off what's everyone's thoughts on Rajon Rondo's recent torn ACL injury.
I for one feel it is bitter sweet. He is a fantastic player and such great PG. Also he made the starting line up for the East Allstars so it's a shame he won't be able to play. But also it is a plus for everyone other team. When playing the Celtics each team has a nice advantage without Rondo being there. No triple-doubles for him :P. Also to go along with Rondo's injury what's your thoughts on the Celtics now that they don't have their star PG?
I know there are basketball fans out there, Deeanoo; Markokas; help me out.

Well as far as the Celtics go, they're not gonna make it too far in the playoffs anyway. As far as the second half of the season goes after the allstar break it will be interesting to see who Doc will put as the new PG. I think they will still provide a good competition though with KG and PP and obvsly the Jet still playing the veteran game and Bradley and Lee picking up on Rondo's position.

True cause you still have allstar KG but you got to admit no one can produce like Rondo.

I think that the Celtics are going to struggle a lot due to Rondo's absence. Rondo made the game very easy for the veterans KG and Paul Pierce. Now they're going to have to work a lot more plus the fact they're still ageing. Some from the bench is going to have step up. It could be either Courtney Lee, Leandro Barbosa, or even the Jet itself. I dont think Terry is going to have any success soon because he is still adapting to this new team for this season. Reporters say that they are going to have to trade someone like Paul Pierce but I doubt it. I want to see PP retire as a Celtic. Now talking about ACL injuries, Rose is almost back :D He has 15 extra pounds of muscle, hes turned into a jump shooter and says hes going to be a brand new typr of player that he doesnt even know how is going to turn out. Lets see what happens

I highly doubt KG or PP would be traded. They are the Celtics team and the centerpieces, I wouldn't be suprised if they both retire as Celtics.
So on to a new topic, the Golden State Warriors. They beat the Raptors last night by 12 and Bogut is back! Tbh this is scary, they are already a great team with Curry and Lee (27-17) and now that they have a big defensive player who can play offense, the potential is off the charts. Thoughts?

Well, not gonna lie, the Raptors aren't the best team in the NBA. I think that what's a bigger topic for discussion as far as the Warriors go is Curry's ankle sprain to an already troubled foot. Will coach play him next game against the Cavs or will he give Curry some time to rest... Going back to the Celtics for a second, they sure showed what they're capable of in the game against Miami 2OT win by 2 so yeah... :D

I wouldn't say Curry will be out for long if at all. We will have to see in the upcoming days.

A really impressive win for Golden State last nigh. The beat the Cavs even without their should be Allstat Steph Curry. The Warriors just look better and better each night.

Well gotta mention that Irving was ill also, but yeah a great effort from the Warriors can't wait to see how long it's gonna last. Klay Thompson with them 32 points though, great shooting night for him. Also in other news, gotta love them game winning buzzer beaters @Blazers :D Aldridge making it happen there :P

Aldrige is having one hell of a season and clearly deserves his spot on the all star team.

What you guys think about the Rudy Gay trade? I think they only did it for the luxury tax. Besides that, it really didn't benefit any other team. The Raptors lost their point guard but at least now Kyle Lowry can step up finally. The Piston lost a champion, Prince and the Grizzlies did horrible against the Thunder last night so....

Shame about Rondo. I like to watch all the best players in any sport, hate seeing players out for the season especially in NFL & NBA. Good to see Clippers showing up Lakers, San Antonio carrying on strong and James Harden putting up good numbers in Houston!

Who do you guys think deserves MVP this season?
Remember, MVP is not the best player of the league, it's the one that brings the most success to his team.

Not trying to biased as I am a huge Knicks fan but I would have to say Melo on that. He is the heart and soul of the Knicks and the reason why they are doing so well this year.

I'd say James Harden actually, though the Rockets have good lineup with Lin, Asik, Parsons, he is the one who keeps the team together and he really leads the team.

Who's excited for All Star weekend? We have the Slam Dunk Contest and the 3PT shooting. The lineups are interesting but it's going to be fun, I'm really excited. Who you guys going for? EAST or WEST?

Kobe shut Lebron down in the AllStar game. Kobe > Lebron
But I believe the Heat are going to win it again this year.

Yes cause basing a performance off the AllStar game definitely is the way to go...
Oh btw, Lebron says hi with another triple-double.
Never did say I didn't like Lebron? lol
Did I ever say Kobe is better than Lebron? No.
I'm just saying what happened in the AllStar game and who performed better.

New topic: Who do you think should get MVP this year?
At this moment I think it is Lebron no question. He is playing the best in the league atm.

Actually yes you did, I believe that "Kobe > Lebron" means just that. The ">" sign does stand for greater than (or in this case better than).
In reply to auffant1; yeah i think LeBron has a great chance of getting it this year as he really carries his team and the 30 points per game with 60% shooting just goes to show that he is one of the best, if not THE best, player in the NBA. He is on top of the Player Efficiency Ratings also so it's looking good for him this year.
