Seems weird that they would announce the PS4 outside of E3 or the like. Perhaps it's an announcement that they will be announcing the PS4 later in the year :P

I'm interested. I've been a Sony fan the past two generations, but I never make up my mind until I see what they offer - hopefully we'll see both MS and Sony come out with some awesome tech to make this generation more interesting than the last :)

And about E3 - I'm far from an expert on the industry, but Game Informer mentioned that both Sony and Microsoft were likely to announce outside of E3 this year in order to have an event all about their new consoles instead of having it overshadowed by anything else at the show.

Bit silly anyway, if you wait for your competitors to go first then they'll have development kits out easily 12 months earlier than you do.

DAMNIT im unbalanced i love my ps3 to bits and when this comes out will it just sit in a dark cupboard somewhere? i hope it plays ps3 games on it sucked that ps3 couldn't play ps2
