View Full Version : Is anyone a tattoo guru?
Basically, met this girl up town last night who had '*REMOVED*' tattooed on the inside of her mouth so when she pulle her lip down you could see it. Tbh i thought it was pretty neat as im currently in employment where you cant have any visible tattoo's i was just wondering what the pain on the inside of your lip would be like compared to anywhere else on your body?

I've never understood these tattoo's what would be the point if nobody could see it? :S Can't personally say I've had one inside my lip but the thought of it makes me shiver, surely feels like someone ripping your lip apart dragging a needle through it

Its actually illegal to tattoo the inside of someones lip in any province governed by EU law
Having a tattoo is alot more than having it on show though, to me anyway.

Its because the skin on the inside of your mouth is very weak and prone to ulsars and takes a while to heal, plus with a foreign substance in it, it'll reject even more and there's a higher risk of it becoming septic because of the warmth of your mouth (it'll incubate germs basically). Plus your teeth are likely to catch it and you'll probably keep playing with it with your tongue making it take even longer to heal. Basically it'll bleed a lot and get infected

They aren't permanent and will eventually fade. My sisters friend had it done and it was almost completely gone in a few months.

Healing will truely suck, eating won't be fun for a week or so. Like Metric said, it'll last about six months if you're lucky. If you want a tattoo you can 'hide' then your thigh would be a good place. Also lots of space there for something that will last, as opposed to something small that will merge together as you get older.
Also don't know what that person saying it's illegal is going on about. I'm sure a lot of artists would recommend against getting it done, but they wouldn't get arrested for doing so.
