Radio News.

Hullo there.

I was thinking. Perhaps it could be a good idea to integrate radio and news a little bit. An example, let's say at half past the hour, the current dj reads out some headlines from the habbox news articles and talks about them. It would give dj's something to talk about and would perhaps persuade people to check up on habbox news stories, promoting those articles. It may inform, persuade (them to check out habbox news) and entertain all at the same time.

Just an idea.

Sadly management changes stopped this project from returning but yeah I'd like to see it too.

Well I think DJs should have a choice to do this or not. Not every DJs wants to do this but eh.

I worked really hard to set this up but things always got in the way. No DJ available to help, no SAM training... the News account is all set up though, I was waiting for confirmation of a slot and someone to work with me but it never happened. I gave up at least 2 weeks before I quit as manager too, so you can't blame management changes at all.

It'd be such a good idea, but people keep stopping it from happening. Even little sound-bites would be fine which DJs could play (another idea of mine) but noone was willing to record them for HxL. Most of the stories that relate to Habbo DJs won't bother talking about (when I asked them) because most of the updates are 'obvious' or 'boring'.

Anyway yeah it's a good idea which has been bouncing around for over a year now so it'd be nice to see it birthed. There's now been 5 different attempts (that I know of) to get it up so yeah, whoever wants to take the lead this time can go ahead, best of luck to you...

I personally thought Finkelstien (is that the correct spelling?) was good with the primetime news on HxL as he had the correct type of voice for it. And with this it needs to be interesting like BBC Newsbeat which I can actually listen to, whereas the Sky News hour radio broadcast is so boring..

do habboxlive still do weekly shows? i haven't tuned in for a while but they used to be pretty good
if there aren't any then i think there definitely should be, even if it's just doing a top 10 countdown or something

I'd be in full support of anything jade would plan to do with us for this to be honest, as I always thought it sounded a good idea when laura was last trying to bring it back tbh! Maybe a weekly show more though like to be dedicated to the discussing of like the news and what's going on recently or something though as half an hour each day seems like we wouldn't have enough to talk about tbh, though we could always use real life stuff too, in some respects real life would probably be more interesting to people really who are listening, as they could just read our front page news there anyway. Main problems lie in what laura has said unfortunately :(

I completely agree, when we were both managers I remember someone PMing us and Logan about it, even though we were both away you were really determined to get it out there. If I remember correctly Stacey wanted to record herself doing news, stuff like that too but sadly she resigned but I think it'd be good providing it isn't milked too much, maybe even if it was a DJ at the beginning of the hour saying 'have you seen the latest news on Habbox.com' but the department count change each hour. I mean integration doesn't have to just be suited to News and HabboxLive and it can be expanded to most departments.

I'd like to see it though.

I believe California; could shed light on this as I know she approached me once about something similar :) x.

I think this is a really good idea.

I think there could be a few different ways of doing it..

1) Like the BBC 60 second news where they go over the headlines we could do that on air (maybe a little slower than 60secs) and then refer to habbox.com/news.
2) News could have a recording we could play with headlines where we can play a jingle then the headlines read from someone in news. (That would mean someone recording something new and getting it to the dj's everyday though so maybe not as practical)

I think we should maybe look at getting a Jingle created ... im sure there are people on the forum that could easily create a jingle that links to news.

But yeah I think News in HxL could work :)

I think it would be great to do, I know it was bounced around when Logan was manager and would love to speak to Janice about it. I don't think it would be conceivable to do so every hour as not all the DJs are going to want to but, maybe saying those who book a certain slot during the day (6pm for example) must include a little 60 second news beat (can get a jingle made and what not) and then maybe having a proper weekly show dedicated to such a thing on a day in the week around the current weekly shows we have at the moment. I'll have a look into it further and see if we have any DJs who would have a suitable voice for such a thing as I think it is something that needs that kind of voice rather than just any other old DJ.

I am starting to build vital bridges with the news team with Radio Plays and Radio News, and I would really like to go ahead with these. Here is my view:

I think it would be good to have some kind of news weekly show, like Grig; did. Also news bulletins would be fabulous to have as an option during a show. Myself and im pretty sure jade dont want to make it a compulsory part of every DJ's shows, because it would become boring after a while.

O yes jazz raises a very good point that we are also working with hxl on radio plays actually, and after talking to Jazz we are definitely gonna be working on sorting out the ideas she has mentioned :)

I'd like to see it though.

They PMed me, I then forwarded it to Logan for him to deal with seeing I had quit from HxL management days earlier. Otherwise I would have set something in motion and into action very quickly as I know how it all works. I often did it without preparing in advanced as it's so easy to do, but then I did tend to think quickly behind the mic.

It was an idea and I used to do a brilliant weekly show, which I shall shamelessly say really benefited both departments. I'm not sure if there is anyone from any of the departments that both has a knowledge of news affairs from Habbo and the world, as well as being a great DJ. I'd never go ahead with this show if there is no such individual.

Once that's sorted, you'll have two options. The option DJ Ready-T aka Teron did, or the one I did. You would either do two news updates somewhere in primetime on the weekdays- we had them at 4 and 7pm or do a weekly show like I did. It's entirely up to you.
