Today sees the opening of a brand and new exciting website - SMStoPayPal is the new way to buy online goods and services using just your phone. It’s so easy! Choose how much you want to send, tell us who you're sending the money to, text the short code number and we’ll do the rest!
This release is for UK residents only, other countries are to come.

I remember when it was in its first stages of development and thinking what a great idea it was. Congrats on finally getting it off the ground, I can see it making you a wealthy man :P What are the exchange rates like? I assume it doesn't take for example £10 and give you exactly £10 in your paypal account?

Wow I'm glad you completed it! Just out of curiosity, how is the charge calculated (e.g. Need £4 pay £6)? Is it just a fee or are Paypal charging you? In future, will this go down or will you have special offers like a no fee day or whatever.

Maybe Ross can explain more about that.

I think there's a glitch as by default it displays: you need £4 and you pay £7 but when you enter it manually its saying you only get charged £6. The large fee is putting me off it imo

Yeah it does glitch sometimes, I entered 1.00 at one point and it said I was going to be charged £14.00. Then I typed it in again and it corrected itself to £2,00 or w.e :L

Can I suggest that you change "amount you wish to send" to "amount you wish to pay" or add an extra converter because if I only had, say, £19 and wanted to spend it all, I'd have to go through 1-13 before I figured out how much I would actually be getting.

the large fee's is a huge put off imo, but i like the concept
like 22 pound costs 30 lol if i was to constantly use that i would just set up a paypal account myself and connect it with my bank to save myself 8 pound each time i wanted to use it

Thanks haha, I mean two years in development... I hope i end up wealthy :P They arn't brilliant as phone companys take a huge chunk, We have a few events this year where we come in contact with them, So the more we make, the lower they go. I assure you of that.

Haha thanks :D Its calculated on a percentage plus a fixed fee depending if / or value is above £1.25 - £1.50 (cant remember as super duper tired)

Yeh I hate the tariff checker, never liked it, Its just the easiest way to calculate, Will be looking into fixing it etc next few days.

We will defiantly be looking into going International in the next few months, After todays performance, I can assure you that.

Nope, £30 is request limit per day, which is £22 (if im correct) per day, Limit is £1000 p/m

Erm... Well what can I say, I'd really like to thank everyone who's supported SMStoPayPal, I know its been a long journey and trust me its not been the easiest thing i've ever done, I'd like to thank Calvin; super bad for helping me (specially today) with the opening also.

In regards to the fee, I believe on say a £5 transaction impulsepay take almost £2 then they obv need to stick on a small % for themself + VAT :P so it's not ross trying to get like £2.50 profit per transaction as they only get like 1/4 of what impulsepay get lol
