Each player has been PM’ed a set of worldwide locations. For each set, there is one answer which you will discover by finding a link between the locations, this means each player is responsible for one answer. The first post bolded by each person will be accepted as their answer, and each correct answer is awarded 1 day of VIP.

The answer from each set is a number, and once you have discovered the number for a set, you can discover the numbers for the other sets in exactly the same way. So once you have figured out how to solve them, you'll complete the task in no time.
You have now won -1 days of VIP for this task so far.

EDIT:
The one founded on the 3rd has Route 1 - not so sure that'd be it though

It's supposed to be in there twice :)
I can give another clue for a day of VIP :)
You know, could it be the distance between all of them like if you were going on a journey, how long it'd take to get from each one in miles or km?
---------- Post added 17-02-2013 at 07:33 PM ----------
I only say that because I notice most, if not all the countries aint in a ridiculous distance from eachother.
I've got mine¬ Do we just have to say the number then? Kardan;

This has been accepted as your submission, and it is wrong.
You are not looking for a distance.

so what has everyone tried?
just about to start trying to work mine out but don't want to go over other peoples
I have a link with mine and it's a single digit answer. It may not be the one you have because I don't think it's obvious and you said you could give a clue that'd make it obvious, if this were my answer, I do not think it would make it so.
So my question: I have found a link with my five places and it linkes to a single digit number. Even if it is not what you had in mind, you'll still count it since it's an epic answer, correct?? ;D

This answer is wrong.
I'll give you the easy clue for free since it's so late, and only 4 of you can still give an answer:
Connect the dots.
