View Full Version : Habbo.de getting closing times.

Habbo.de used to be one of the hotels that had no closing hours (I'm 99% sure of), but on the 19th February it's getting them:
Important: New hotel opening times
From 19 February, the hotel will close daily from 3.00 bis 8.00 clock in the morning. A well-deserved break to face a new day in Habbo!
Doesn't seem to have affected Habbo.fr or any other hotel afaik. Such a pity.

i'm sure some other hotel has this too, because you always see "the other hotel" on .com at around 1am.

Every hotel except
Habbo.com
Habbo.es
Habbo.com.br
Habbo.fr
Has closing times. I was quite surprised when they added them to .de, because they haven't introduced them onto any other hotel for quite a few years.

maybe it's to save money because nobody really goes online at those times in between?

Probably so, user numbers on .de (and every hotel tbh) have dropped so low at those times now :(
All Nordic hotels (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland) have also got new opening times: they all open at 10 AM (earlier it was 7 AM) and closing at midnight (00:00), which is really bad! Earlier they were open every day to 01 and on weekends they were open to 02.
I understand that Sulake needs to save their money but I don't think they'll get so happy users when they take in the openingtimes like that, most users on the Swedish hotel were unhappy about the fact that they don't get the nighthours to spend on Habbo. In times like this though, I really remember when the Swedish hotel was open 24/7 on weekends, I remember how we had a MOD who was drunk and went around being goofy and sending embarrasing hotel alerts at 3 AM.

Jeez that sucks. I agree with the bottom part, closing times aren't the best way to save money and keep their users pleased lol.
After this and .de, I wouldn't be surprised if .fr gets closing times as well. They doesn't seem to be doing the best at night either.

Mhm. I think Sweden overall was hit the worst, no wait I believe it's Denmark. Denmark rarely reaches above a couple of hundred at peak times due to the ban of gambling.

jesus. why is gambling banned, do you know?

It will be to save money on moderation.

Different countries have different laws on what constitutes towards gambling. Presumably the U.S. doesn't consider the betting in casinos/grabbers as breaking the law on underage gambling, but the ruling in Denmark was that it wasn't allowed - so they were forced to disable the dice.
Habbo Singapore had a gambling ban before as well (before it merged) and a few other hotels have one. .com is quite lucky not to.

wow that sucks. also, if this happened on .com it wouldn't just be the end of gambling it would be the end of bingo!!

It should be banned in all hotels. I don't know of many countries that allow underage gambling, but I guess because Sulake doesn't officially endorse it it's not a problem.
But I could guarantee if someone like channel 4 decided to do a news report on gambling in habbo Sulake would come out and say 'oh we didn't know blah blah' lol
/ I can understand the closing times to save money on moderation and stuff, I wonder if .com will ever reach such little traffic that they will close it at certain times, I hope not anyway since it's like international sorta

Not sure if they can design something like this, But why don't they design something like a translate so if they don't talk English it auto translate for us so we can see what they are saying but for them it keeps to their language? Then close every hotel and just have 1 might cost alot but saving in staff wages ect...

That probably wouldn't work because not everything can be translated, e.g. people shortening words, using abbreviations, etc. I remember going on to the .de hotel years ago just to see if it would help me with my German (A).

Yeah because of the different time zones it wouldn't work on the .com hotel. Only on hotels which are aimed at one timezone, like .co.uk if it was still open :P.

I'm not quite sure really but it seems people from that area seem to like the Habbo product more hence the higher numbers than the rest of the hotel. I wonder if Sulake do any special advertising for it in that country? Does anyone know what the staff are like on there and if theres any interaction etc.

I used to look on a .es fansite quite often a while back, and it seemed like Habbo.es and Habbo.com.br did have more in-game events/competitions and whatnot. Pretty much how Habbo.nl get loads of competitions/quests and stuff as well because 'whoever is in charge of it all' (Airblender?) is based there.
Staff interaction I'm not really sure, but I faintly recall there being some kind of big campaign irl to do with Habbo.es/Habbo.com.br.
I would say the sheer/shear number of Spanish & Brazilian speakers probably boosts that count a lot as well.

haha just went onto the hotel to see why with times made an account called it "Luke367 same as .com got banned for:
You have been banned! The reason for the ban is "You have been banned until 16-07-2024 18:38:05. Foul habbo name will not be tolerated. Please take a look at the Terms of Habbo, to see what is allowed and what is not.".
Like Really? But you can see why no1 is online. Room died.

things that are different between .com and .com.br:
.com has more achievements you can earn.
.com.br have forums.
.com has more fansites.
.com.br charges ten american dollars for 30 coins.
.com has built in watch & earn.
.com.br have promotional public rooms.
for the coins is shocking imo.

Lmao I've just noticed that Sulake decided to remove the user number counter for Habbo.fi and Habbo.dk due to such low numbers, how sneaky.

Interesting graph. Habbo.fr aren't too far below .com though, so considering .com is basically multiple hotels combined, that's actually quite good for .fr and I wouldn't expect them to get closing times any time soon.

Yeah, they removed them quite a while ago (also from Habbo.no and Habbo.se) - I personally don't understand why, it kinda makes me think the hotels are empty with no numbers at all.
Also, Habbo.fr actually has opening hours, the same as habbo.de has now (closed 03-08), so it's basically only the largest hotels spread on multiple time zones which don't seem to have or get them.

Oh are the French opening hours a new addition as well? Or have I been wrong for quite a long time xD. Either way, that's a shame yet again :(

I think they just spend more effort on habbo.com.br and .es. Like a month or so ago I saw that they had some Justin Bieber campaign on one of them. They seem to have more things going on, and since I have been keeping up with the spanish habbo fansite, habbos.es, I see that .fr and .es get competitions all the time that we don't get. Idk, I think maybe English speaking kids are too busy buying video games and stuff for Habbo, OR something. Plus in other hotels, people value their credits more. Dragons are worth 100s of coins instead of like 25c, and therefore rooms are a lot smaller and less dramatic than .com. Here we buy w.e the heck we want whenever the heck we want and we expect nice prizes for any game that we play, on these other hotels, you have to actually spend a good amount of coins to buy the things you need for your rooms. So yeah idk. It's interesting to think about though, I like to visit the other hotels often and see what they are about. HABBO CULTURE <3 Lol

Yeah, but recently I have noticed many more campaigns on .COM by .beeches. and Powertoo.
