As the title asks, is there any noticeable difference between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S?
Which one is better in your opinion or which one is better value?
I'm undecided as to which one to get and I'm not entirely convinced the extra £130 is worth it.
Thoughts please :D

If you had to pick between the 4 and 4S, the 4S is better as it has a faster processor and is much more responsive. The camera is also a lot better.
Is the iPhone 5 out of your budget? Because I have the 5 now and I can't imagine using the 4(S) again...

Umm well my sister has the 5 and I just don't like it as much as the 4/4S. I just don't like the design of it :P

I have the 4, I had the 4s also at one point. for the cost I personally couldn't justify having a 4s.
It is just as fast (Menus, internet, facebook etc) It is only slower with games and such, I never get any real lag.
The camera is great for me in HDR mode.
I was the same as you, I didn't want to pay £130 more, so I didn't and I am perfectly happy.
(bear in mind I also have an iPad 2 with the same processor and its fine, I also use iTunes match so storage space isn't an issue on the iPhone 4 8GB)

Just remember, come June time the iPhone 4 will probably become completely obsolete.

I really don't think it will, look at the lifespan of the 3gs, I think come June, the 3gs will be out.

You weren't put of at all by not having Siri (personally I think it's a pointless price tag)? Are there any features of the 4 that are improved in the 4S in your opinion? :)

How so? (I'm not up-to-date on the technology front)

So why did you get an iPhone 5 the other month then? ;)

Apple still sell the iPhone 4 as a cheap alternative to new iPhone users or whatever, come June time I suspect they'll release a 5s or similar, and bump the iPhone 5 and 4s down into the current 4s and 4's positions, making the iPhone 4s the cheap alternative.

As other have already explained the differences - also I believe 4s has Siri and the 4 doesn't.
That's what I don't like about Apple they're gonna over release stuff, like for example 5 came out in September and then a rumor of another is to come in the next couple of months? Same with iPads, they're constantly being updates and re-released. :P

Not really, Especially as I live in the UK, and you can't get a lot of the features you can in the US.
You can still get the death grip but a case fixes that.
And you will always end up being behind in the apple tech world, You buy something brand new, up to date then they release something new 6 months later, so, for the fact the iPhone will still get iOS updates for a while yet, I'm happy to stick with it until it dies.

Does the "death grip" only occur on the 4?
isn't siri the difference?
I thought this too, but there may be other differences, as it seems,

Death Grip only appears on the 4, I however have been lead to believe it was fixed on newer production models, (I.E mine won't have that problem as its only ~6 Months old) So, I'm not sure, I've not had the problem myself.
I'd get a 4S, I've got one and I notice I get better signal in most places than my parents who have the 4. It's worth it for what little difference the cost is tbh...

I'm not just asking this because I love Android and don't like iOS, but why are you willing to drop £449 on a phone that's a year and half old when you can get something like a Nexus 4 for half the price with far superior specs and the support from Google for at least another year to two years. Like someone said above, support for the 4S will end when iOS 7 comes out (going by Apple's current trend), just seems silly to be spending that much money on a phone that's already dated.
