View Full Version : Host/template
Anyone know where I can find a free and simple portfolio template?
and...
Can anyone refer to me a simple-to-use, but still great hosting service at a cheap price and where should I buy a domain from?
Thanks xx
If you search "free portfolio website template" on Google there are thousands available for download.
As for domain reg and hosting. I'll probs buy my domain at 123-reg.co.uk (it's like £10 for 3 years domain) and GoDaddy for my hosting as its around £23 a year atm

OP, please don't buy your web hosting from GoDaddy. By all means use them for domain names (if you must - use namecheap if you will) but definitely not for hosting.

I've only brought from inmotionhosting in the past. They were really good. Don't know many good cheap domain name reg and hosts.
Fancy recommending some?

Sure... perhaps I should have justified my comment. GoDaddy are primarily a domain registrar, and domain registrars do not make good web hosts. There are a few exceptions, however GoDaddy are notorious for providing an unreliable service backed by a huge amount of degraded performance and terrible customer support. They're an "okay" company to use for domain names, but there are better.
If you want cheap:
Namecheap, Name, or 123-Reg for domain names
UK2.net or Vidahost for UK web hosting

Namecheap for domains
SimplexWebs for hosting
Guess I learnt my lessons from cheap hosts in the past (feel free to search up on a few of my previous threads in web hosting section)
Stay away from Tech-Hosts 8-) for everything.
