Hi if you're in year 11 what are you choosing for a-level? Or even if you are doing/have done them what did you pick?

I've chosen;
English Lit

Geography
Government & Politics

:)

I choose sociology, philosophy, law and psychology. Dropped psychology 2 months in, and will probably take up AS Ancient (or British & European) History next year :)

Mine are quite complicated...

Did GCSE French in Year 9, so did AS-Level French for Year 10 and Year 11 but didn't take the exam (mainly because we didn't get taught because our school was awful...)
Did GCSE Maths in Year 10, so did A-Level Maths a year early.
Then in Year 11 I picked Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Geography to go with my Maths. Dropped Geography after 2 months, and because I was taking 5 A-Levels it means I didn't have to do AS Citizenship over 2 years.

So technically I was in classes for 6 A-Levels and came out with just the 4 I wanted really, Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics.

What grades did you get in maths and f maths? J/W as you seem like the "go to" maths guy for help on habbox haha :D

--

I'm taking maths, further maths, economics and pre-u history at the moment and I'm in my first year!
I want 3 As and I'm not totally confident of getting an A at further maths so I'm not gonna drop anything and just do 4 A levels as I'm pretty sure I can get at least 3 As (or 2 As and 1 D3 :P) in the other 3 subjects :D

Maths A, Further Maths B. The B at Further Maths sucked, got 4 A's and then two awful exams during A2, two D's - giving me a high B overall :(

Law is a horrible AS/A2 subject. SO much more work than every other subject, and unit 2 of AS is incredibly boring.

Not everyone will do the same units... I also don't think it's that much more work and I actually find it the easiest to revise for.

I don't think it'll be that bad - most people in my GCSE Law say that it is boring and too much work, but because I actually enjoy the subject so much, I think that it's fine. So hopefully I'll also enjoy A-Level Law and the work will seem fine also (:

this.

didn't find tort law the worst thing in the world, there's just so much writing to get down in the time you're given.

Out of all my subjects I thought it was hideous, although that was partly thanks to my teacher insisting on writing an essay (test) every lesson for about six weeks. Too much. Sources of Law was the bit I hated.

I found the first bit interesting, sources was really boring though.

Also find it laughable how some law schools discourage the subject haha

A shame - I think we have three, possibly four Politics teachers at my Sixth Form.

Feeling kind of privileged right now!

Yeah Edexcel. Do you enjoy it? I dropped it because I wouldn't find the american politics that interesting, and I'd find it confusing :P.

Ah my college is in the minority to study International Relations instead of American Politics.

A real shame, as the one we are doing has SO MANY THEORIES :L I enjoy the EU side, IR is incredibly tedious though.

B :(

Full marks c/w - exam went badly (well the first section). Annoying, as prior to results it was the ONLY subject I expected an A in - ended up being one of the two (out of six) that I failed to get an A in :L

What did you get?

I was so tempted to do A-level psychology, chemistry and English Literature, but in the end just opted for a professional science health and social course.

Oh sorry, you are AS :L

And AQA I think? Is that right? :L I could check...

I messed up in the first bit and went a little ott on one set of marks, and not enough on the other - shame, the mocks were all fine :L

I think our exams may be similar. How were your questions split up? Like we have one for 40 marks and the other is 20.

Ah right, pretty similar then.

My teachers aren't exactly of great help *sigh*. So far part A do you look at word class then like purpose, audience, format etc?

Yeah that is what I had to do - sadly I messed up and went mad on mode characteristics :( Last years paper was about gap years - which was fine for me, but most people said was incredibly boring. Guess as I am going on a gap year, it was somewhat interesting!

If I could ask, how many pages did you do? And like did you focus a LOT on like word class to answer the question?

I chose Chemistry, Biology, Physics and extended maths. Dropped out after a few months, had a year off. Went back for two years doing chemistry, Biology, history and Government and politics. I'm now in University not far off completing a degree in Chemistry, no idea what I want to do after the degree? :P
