Read this the other day and was annoyed how the same thing seems to keep happening.
Basically an Irish Father has discovered his 13 year old daughter has been posting pictures that could be seen as suggestive as well as having sexualised conversations with men since she was 12.
I'm sure there was something about this a year or so ago. But basically the father isn't happy with Facebook. Apparently she's used multiple accounts and one guy is banned from contacting her.
Now don't get me wrong, I agree that it's not ideal that people underage can sign up but the problem is it's impossible to stop it as Facebook isn't going to be able to identify everyone and be able to prove their age. The real problem and the reason I am annoyed is that the father and many other parents are simply not bothering to care about what their children get up to online. They simply throw them at a computer and let them go wild and then get annoyed when nothing happens.
Obviously if this child keeps doing this she needs to be prevented from going onto the internet or monitored - monitoring should be done by the parents though and not the companies. Fair enough if it was a children's site as I know some children's site's only allow public chat which is monitored 24/7 but no one would be happy if they knew their private messages where being monitored.
