The Scandinavian hotels, .se, .no, .dk gets disabled functions on the hotel, for instance: anyone can't buy HC in 3 months anymore, making it only available to buy 1 month. Also the Habbo coin furniture is not available in the catalogue more.
There's really no reason why they're doing this - but accoarding to staff Sulake wants to study Habbos when these functions are disabled.

What do you think they'll doing?

The are just trying to make more profit, because credits won't be purchasable lol. But you couldn't buy credits before, but that was when they weren't the main currency in the game

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they're slowly phasing out of keeping certain features for those hotels/even keeping them open in the future. Didn't they close the office yesterday, ok no that was .nl oops. That doesn't seem that plausible if they removed the exchange items though, that's a tad weird.

Genuinely feel sorry for those hotels. You don't seem to get many events, rare releases and user count isn't that high.

Oh and not forgetting the gambling ban on .dk.

It's really sad if we lose the coins! :/ They haven't removed them yet, but I hope this is not the case.
And yeah, we have lost a lot of users the past year. We used to be like 600-700 online (1 year ago), and now we're 200-300. Everyone has moved to retros unfortunately. It's kinda sad that they're not doing anything about it.

The only thing that will happen is that the exchange furniture will just increase in value on the hotel. As more and more get cashed in, there will be less of them on the hotel. So eventually you'll start seeing people paying 51/52/53 credits for a gold bar...

unless they somehow retrieve all the coin currency and make it credits in your purse

I don't know why people are discussing what might happen to the market, surely this is a sign that these hotels are almost definitely closing?! Unless I'm missing something.

I don't think so.

Removing the exchange makes sense - probably the biggest mistake habbo has ever made. Why buy credits, when you can simply exchange gb's?

Will be interesting to see if they do this to .com - if they do, will hc's make a rise again, or something else?

Not so sure. Removing one of the most used features, giving it opening times, making it so you can only buy one month of HC, not having designated staff would all be clues to me that these hotels are only going one way.

I wouldn't like to see the currency/exchange removed I do like this. How would they profit from it other wise?

That would kind of ruin the marketplace though, seen as when you sell something for creds you can only spend them in the marketplace or the shop. And to have the credits to buy stuff in the first place would mean you'd have to buy credits. Oh idk :P.

I think especially the credit furni has revolutionised Habbo, without it, it's pretty crap.

Yeah I agree that the marketplace did ruin trading particularly, but removing it now and going back just doesn't seem like a good thing to do :P.

To prolong something like this will kill the economy for sure. There won't be enough credits to go around so furniture values will plummet. The main reason the gold bar system works so well is because noob users buy credits, exchange them into gold bars, and throw them into the hands of rich players. Without this source of revenue, the richer players will quickly run out of credits and the attention will shift from credits to a popular furniture (probably thrones) as the common currency in the hotel. As many of you probably remember, Club Sofas were the standard currency before Exchange was invented. Something similar to this would happen, though I doubt the Club Sofa is appealing enough to become that valuable again.

It does, if we count the users online currently on Habbo, they're 376 online.. on the retro, it's 1116 users.

If I was a .dk / .se / .no user I would have gone to a retro long before now, and this^ would have pushed me to join one even more. I don't know why people still play on those sites if Sulake are basically treating those users like **** and not offering them any updates.

You should all just go join retros and prove a point to Sulake about what happens when a company ignores its users.

If you are against the removal of habbo currency please VOTE here:

Better to do this before it's too late..

PS: I got the date wrong..lol
