I think someone said in another thread that TalkTalk also blocked Habbox for them - dunno the reason.
Doesn't happen with Sky and avast antivirus doesn't try and stop me either.

Someone beat me to the TalkTalk bit.

Ive been getting a "stop this script" prompt for a while now sometimes when loading the main site, and also it loads really slowly to start with and the page goes all messed up for a few seconds then fixes itself- its weird haha.

I get that too, all the time. I don't get anything about a virus though.
Has Habbox been hacked :'( I cba to log into my dads account to allow Habbox... would seem kind of sad :(

I imagine V6 is quite JS intensive so this is probably the issue.
Might be worth Recursion; or xxMATTGxx; spending five minutes updating habbox's version of jquery.

would be good because its really off-putting going onto the main site and it being a jumbled mess for a few seconds LOL it looks awful

In regards of AOL or TalkTalk blocking the site - Turn off their crap security they apply to your account If you can. TalkTalk have not bothered to take the emails I've sent them any further to get the site unblocked.

Why are they blocking the site, out of interest? Is Habbox being categorised as some illicit website? :P
Recursion
08-03-2013, 09:25 AM
It takes a few seconds for the site to "unscramble" because it's so JS heavy and there's so much to load, hopefully we'll be able to sort that out very shortly and it won't be a problem once V7 is *finally* sorted out.
I'll update jQuery later.
From an SEO point of view V6 is terrible.

Get whipping so we can have V7.

Im guessing you will go through to someone who couldn't give a crap about what you have to say unless your handing over money :P
Sorry to bump this, but Habbox.com "still contains a virus"... I thought this was going to be fixed?
edit: I've had to go into homesafe on AOL and turn off virus warning for sites, which could open my whole network to danger, but if that's what it takes to access Habbox then fair enough -__- haha.

It can't be fixed when the support team of the companies of the sites actually do not reply back to you. Probably because I am not a client of theirs. AOL you say? Are they related to TalkTalk by any chance?

IIRC, TalkTalk were originally part of The Carphone Warehouse plc. and a few years ago they purchased AOL Broadband. Then the previous 2 demerged, so I believe AOL Broadband is owned by TalkTalk now.

That makes perfect sense. I'll ask for an update but I am not getting my hopes up.
I had someone on TalkTalk to send in a support ticket (it mentioned 2 things - one about their speed and another about Habbox being banned) and apparently they did not get a reply either.

Hmm, that's not encouraging... I was thinking of changing my broadband to TalkTalk from Orange (or is it EE these days? No one knows, we're not told anything :P)
Has anyone tried phoning TalkTalk, or is that too much effort to be sat listening to God awful music and not getting anywhere? If they've got this stance at the moment a phone call may not get you anywhere either :/

I think TalkTalk did receive the highest amount of complaints to an ISP a few years back, and I know AOL haven't exactly been brilliant either. I remember a story of some woman who simply wanted AOL to close her email account because there's no option to do it - she sent them emails and then ended up telephoning them and they still refused to do anything about it. AOL/TalkTalk haven't exactly had a brilliant reputation for a little while. My grandparents are with talktalk broadband I think and it's not the best thing ever.
Inseriousity.

I have heard so many complaints about TalkTalk. I am also not willing to phone them up and charge me for it. So anyone who is with them and also has a landline with them as well if you could give them a call and tell them to move their arse then that would be great.
When I get in ill give them another earful via email.

Could try redirecting TalkTalk's monitoring bot to a static page.

I remember someone mentioning that to me be the first time it was ever reported but I am not sure if there was a problem with doing it. I can't remember that far back so will have to look around for some logs.

From experience, TalkTalk aren't a very good company for dealing with customers. Our internet and phone line was cut off for about 2-3 months and every time my mum rang up, they just said it was fixed, when it clearly wasn't. Even if they do get back to you, I wouldn't expect a positive result.

I rung up TalkTalk about this a couple of weeks ago, mainly in regards to my speed as I am a customer of theres and they simply told me to go and disable the websites I wanted in my HomeSafe rah rah rah and then still continued to ignore everything I said. They are totally useless.

Welp, should stop using jQuery to begin with, awfully slow!
You're clearly not a very bright chappy.

Arguably jQuery is faster as the commonly used functions are well written.

jQuery is hilariously slower, maybe it seems the same on a top-of-the-range PC but regular joe PCs are gonna be noticeably slower!
Haha, well funny...
Not actually my choice. I think paying a ridiculous amount like £7 a month for landline including free weekend and evenig calls and internet is quite smart to be honest ;)

It comes out a lot more than that in the long run, BTs company installs the line £170 afik (p/y) it ends up around 15 for the lot once its ran its 3 month course of 3 month free phone thingy (heads not working today :()
Ah well I live with my parents so don't really know about all that atm haha... They say it's cheap, we chopped and changed companies alot but ended back with AOL because we've been with them like 15 years so they give us it ridiculously cheap.

AOL and TalkTalk are cheapest, I mean there BB is free but i think there phone line comes out £1.50 more expensive so they make there profit in numbers, crap customer service and ultimately crap service.
