Markku Ignatius, who was appointed as the acting CEO at the beginning of the year has successfully completed his interim period, during which Sulake successfully initiated a period of increased stability and growth.

“We thank Markku for his leadership during the quarter and wish him all the best for the future” said Mikael Rönnblad, Vice President of Consumer Services Business at Elisa Corporation. “Markku’s role in keeping the company going during the interim period was essential for the business of the firm. Markku’s experience of more than 6 years in the senior management of Sulake allowed him to steer the company through this period of transition resulting in the acquisition of the company by Elisa.”
“I am honored to have the opportunity to work for a company like Sulake, and I’m excited by this new operational role at the company”, said Antti-Jussi Suominen, presently Head of International Business Development at Elisa Corporation. “As a previous board member of Sulake I have learned to appreciate the uniqueness of the Sulake user community and will continue the good work that Markku and the team has started in engaging the community in the development and improvement of the Habbo service.”

“Antti-Jussi will bring to Sulake his expertise and track record of building both mobile and online businesses and services internationally in different parts of the world, “ Rönnblad stated. “He has previously held various senior executive roles in both start-up and corporate environments and brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to the development of Sulake business going forward.”

According to the new guy's LinkedIn profile, he's only worked at Elisa for 7 months? I don't have a good feeling about this lol.

Nevertheless, his total work experience is certainly impressive..

So do I, but TBH the changes might not have actually been because Markku was the CEO. It could have been down to other management staff that was hired.

i liked that Paul interacted with us a lot, it was on twitter but it was better than nothing. also towards the end Paul actually started listening to us and using uservoice which was good. to begin with he was absolutely awful though. I hate that he took all these important features away and didnt listen to us when we complained insisting it was the right thing to do. then he would realise that actually we were right and he was wrong and he made plans to bring stuff back. everything was just so slow with him

Seems like this was part of the plan when Elisa bought the most of Sulake - Will be interesting to see where this takes Habbo into the future. Shame about Markku though.

Tbh we as Habbo users don't really experience what the CEO of Sulake so I'm not too bothered but if this guy did really well, they should have kept him.

Shame to see Markku step-down from his role as CEO, although it was only temporary. But let's hope the new CEO does a great job too. :)

It's not like if Antti-Jussi does a terrible job that they just won't replace him with Markku. In reality if they felt Markku would do better than any other applicant they'd offer to make them full time CEO. This can only be good news as it means they think Antti-Jussi will manage to do an EVEN BETTER job than Markku.
