think tokens have lost there touch, without anything to buy or anyone actually putting any effort in them members have got bored of them fast.

I had 2 ideas in my head swirling around that I've been trying to sort out but 1 of them is a bit tricky and it's slowed me down so I've decided to focus on the pretty straightforward idea and come back to the challenging one later. The easy one is adding credits as prizes. Just working out the numbers so there's a nice balance between not giving away 100 gold bars a week and not making it too difficult that people get bored. The hard one is introducing a Habbox-wide achievements system (similar to RS task system/xbox achievements) where there are beginner, medium, hard tasks for departments and winning small number of tokens per task and a big lump sum per 'set.' And Tokens is new so won't count for anything prior to its implementation, so just any posts etc you make now will result in tokens added :).

You mean the 3 months of VIP? I think that is a good idea. VIP is rewarded to people to win stuff by either being a good staff, good debater etc, by working to get tokens you're being a good member, which is nice to be rewarded as well. :P

Selling the VIP is fine, but what's the point of selling the VIP rewards, isn't that what makes VIP different to donator? It doesn't make sense.

I'm not getting it. Selling the VIP is fine, but not its rewards? What do you confider as VIP/VIP rewards? And what makes it different from Donator is that fact that you have to earn it, like people do when they try to earn tokens.

There is a difference in VIP and Donator other than the name and the earning aspect.

A PM storage capacity of 800 messages, Donators don't get increased amount.
Ability to see who gave you reputation, Donators can't.
Option to make yourself invisible, Donators can't.
Be able to close your own threads, Donators can't.
Access to an exclusive VIP Forum, Donators don't.

Other VIP features - 1000 tokens
3 months VIP - 7000 tokens

Why would you buy the VIP and get the benefits for only 3 months, when you could buy all the benefits of VIP separately?

The whole point of VIP having these features is so that VIP is unique to donator. And considering you can now buy VIP in the shop, there is no need to buy VIP features in the shop. If you want to change your user title, buy VIP. Le end.

Because donator is a lesser version of VIP essentially. To get VIP features, you need to get VIP.

You buy Sky TV to get Sky channels, but to get Sky Sports, you still need to buy the Sky Sports package even though you have Sky TV.

The whole point of donator is that you don't have VIP features. So you won't be able to change your usertitle during months of donator. If you want to change your usertitle, buy VIP from the shop. If VIP features are made available through the shop, what's the point in having VIP for sale?

I like the idea of some kind of game, the MyBB points system I used used to have some games where you basically bet tokens. Also, I don't understand why Donator is on sale - surely the whole point of having Donator is that it shows you have donated to the site, but now everyone can just get it for free by posting - so what is there to show that someone has donated?

You should get a badge for donating? Abit like HC on Habbo? Unless they are willing to take donator off and replace it with credits for Habbo.

There is also a forum award for donator, but anyone who has donator could just claim that award.

I think regardless of how you get the donator (by paying or through tokens), you should get a badge. You're still contributing to the Forum through money or a hell of a lot of posting

But you haven't donated to Habbox by posting, and so you shouldn't be able to get Donator - at least in my opinion anyway.

I was saying that when you edit stuff, it takes your tokens but give them back (in an answer to Graham I believe).

But I posted something, and got over 6,604 tokens due to the post. Then in the same thread posted another post in an answer to someone else and clicked ''post'' so it joined that one with the first thing I had posted and now I only had 5,599 tokens.. so when you join two posts together it DOES take tokens from you..

EDIT: But now it gave me 5 tokens from the thread that was second posted out of nowhere? Should it just count as one since they got joined together? I'm very confused.

extra forums of some sort? i dont know any that would get popular besides male and female which has been suggested before but put aside for some reason :/ - 4000t :P
extra main site resources, like the layouts or just another cool page like chatbox and stuff but a new idea would be needed :/ - 1500t

Why not have one that you can have a day in the life of a department, like normal departments the same amount of tokens and it gets further. That's just an idea and its doubtful ur would be implemented, but I don't really care.

The only thing that would do is decrease activity.

I think if credits are chosen in the shop, it should be dealt with just having a high price, no need to introduce other things. As for rep, that shouldn't be introduced. Rep should be from other players, not from posting a lot. Plus if we start selling rep, then it will only push us closer to have to re-scale the reputation system again. We're already pretty close.

What do you mean? Who will fund it? I was under the impression that the whole point in this Tokens system was to give out Tokens as competition prizes, rather than rep/credits, and so it'd be from the Habbox funds anyway.

Indeed, was just wondering how many people will use the tokens for credits though - if it is a fair few (people from posting) then it could be pretty expensive. If the top ten people all with tokens traded them in for credits it would be 500c+ (if it was 350c for 5 tokens) - do you see where I am coming from now? :L

Yeah maybe more than 350c, I only said 350 because if you bought spent 7000tokens on the 3 months VIP, you make ~5c per 350tokens. However, that means it should be more than 350 so that people would be more likely to save up for the VIP, and giving VIP would cost Habbox nothing. I'll be going for VIP anyway :P.

i'm assuming that is more how many times you can buy creds per x unit time not just reach a maximum? cause that would make a lot of sence if they were doing buying creds cause of funds and everything obviously

No but we have to bear in mind that you have 10,000 tokens and lots of other people have high amounts and we don't want to be wiped out in the first five minutes so we're looking at ways to limit the impact. Luke's limit might work but we have to really crunch the numbers properly before we'll be comfortable with any credits in the token system.

Very very few people are earning anywhere near 5k a month though

Not that many people have high amounts really.. Make a limit of how many coins someone can buy per month with tokens and make it a small amount so that they can spend their tokens in something else. But again, if you can sell forum VIP for more coins than what you could adquire with tokens, then I believe buying VIP with tokens and then selling it would be a better deal.

What about the rep idea? Is that being though of? Inseriousity.;

what do you mean by hosting games? Because that's what the events department is for :P
Visitor messaging one isn't too bad, but I don't see it happening.

Getting Tokens for sending VM's would be good so long as it isn't abused :P You already get tokens for replying to threads. The first two options wouldn't really work though I'm afraid

The VM one would be abused for sure. People would end up with thousands of tokens.

+ there's no rules regarding VM's.

You can send 300 pointless VM's an hour if you wanted, where as if you made 300 pointless posts per hour (in an area you get tokens) it would be a different story.
