Ahh I couldn't pick. I prefer 1-4 though. I loved Richard Harris as Dumbledore for first two. He was perfect for the role. :( Although 6 and 7 were my fave books, Michael Gambon really didn't do Dumbledore's character justice imo. Him and Harry are meant to have this great relationship, which you see with Harris but not Gambon.

Inseriousity.

I'd say 1, captured the magic really well, was scary in a good way when I was a kid and didn't cut out half the plot (smaller book so it's understandable but the later books, half the politicial subplot that glues the story together is discarded so it just all falls flat).

I'd like to disagree, I think Harris would have been terrible in the later films, especially HBP. I thought Gambon was great and I don't think Harris would have been able to match him. The only thing I would give Harris the edge over Gambon was the look of Dumbledore.

Personally, DH2 was my favourite by far. Azkaban was the worst.

I love them all, but I would probably pick the first and last movies as my favourites. Especially towards the end of the last movie, I had goosebumps!

No >:{ He captured him perfectly and had the right look/voice. Gambon didn't have the softness or the right characterization, like in GOF when he was shaking Harry and angrily saying why he put his name in the hat??? :-l I remember reading Gambon admitted he had never even read the books. lmao well it showed for me . I cried buckets at HBP book, and felt nothing but disappointment at those scenes in the movie.

i think that yeah earlier dumbledores were good for his GENTLENESS but dumbledores wasn't always like that :p I didn't even know gambon played him until I actually bothered to look lol I thought they were all great, nothing about Harry potter was spoilt for me except the missing out parts and soemtimes characters not lookin how i thought/hoped. I thought the characters were pretty perfect. cries

Yea but that's how he was in the earlier movies, and Richard never got the chance to do the later scenes and develop the character but I'm sure he would of been great.

From my standing moviegoer sometimes critic point of view, I can say "Harry Potter and the goblet of fire" is the movie I liked the most ;)

But I also liked the last two (the ending, part one and two).

I cant stand Harris as Dumbledore, Gambon was the Dumbledore for me.

Order of the Phoenix was always my favourite with Umbridge!

How come? I'm not even sure why I like them. They're just the ones that stick out for me.

3 just sticks out like a sore thumb to me, maybe it's because it's probably the one with the most changes other than 7 and 8.

5 is pretty boring compared to the rest, and whilst they got the first half of the Ministry scene right, they just rushed the ending completely, killing Sirius off in a few seconds and the Dumbledore/Voldemort battle wasn't long enough. Each to their own I suppose though :)

From memory I think prisoner of azkaban although the first will always hold something great along with the chamber of secrets. I say from memory because it's a while since I've seen many of them. I got the box set at Christmas and have watched the first two and need to see the others now.
