none of them know how to use the internet beyond facebook and tumblr it seems, but then again they've no idea that i do, so maybe in secret they do too.

my brother knows i use this forum, but don't think he's interested enough to investigate.
then past bfs knew i used a forum but i didn't tell them the name

there might be one that might use online forums, other than that person probably not. most of my friends know i use an online forum though, 'cus i've told 'em that's where i met jake. only one of them knows that it's a fansite of a game called habbo (he has no clue what that is unless he's looked it up)

A few use and are aware that I use reddit which I guess would sort of count as a type of forum but I'm not sure as to whether any of them use any other forums and wouldn't dream of telling them about hxf since it's still largely habbo focused, which most people grew out of years ago :P

my friends rarely even use Facebook or twitter. i have some friends who use reddit and anime forums etc but that's about it.

yeah my friends know i use forums but i don't think they understand them. they know i meet people off the Internet and most of them pass it off as being weird blah blah except for one friend who uses tumblr and has met people from it but keeps it a secret from the rest. she says she browses forums for some tv series but never posts as 'the people are too intimidating and already have their own groups of friends' AWWW

No they don't know I use online forums and they only use social networks - Facebook nd Twitter primarily.

Not that I'm aware of but I keep this a secret so they might do too, my bestie is a part of like anything and everything on the internet so she probably has ventured onto forums but not that I know of. They know I have internet friends and things cuz I've mentioned it before and they do as well (but from tumblr and twitter and things) and I've mentioned to my bestie that I met one particular person on a forum but she doesnt know what one or anything. Tend to keep this stuff a secret, my family know I go on here and things but friends don't.

I think the sort of negative association that once followed forum usage is diminishing with the increase of use of tumblr and sites like reddit
