Get Rich, or Get cleaned Tryin'

Or atleast that's the way it seems. but it doesn't have to be like that.:)

A few people on habbo have been asking me for help, so I thought I'd offer this guide to give you a run down.

Back in 2006. I'm sure most of you know that a heap of the community was link scammed, people would flood a
room with a java link and dart around the room so that they weaved into the chat bubble when you tried to kick them, and after one click, bam, you permanently lost control of everything,

I however, did the smart thing, and had a storage character for alot of my posessions, as keeping all of your
wealth on the one character begun to seem detrimental with no end to the link scamming in site, eventually after the merge though, sulake finally bothered to do something about it, and there hasn't been many link scams since with the safer client. (that I know of)

Premerge, It used to be alot harder to make money, and after the merge, (For habbo aus players atleast) it
was alot worse, on HabboAus HCs were worth as much as 17.5 c only to see a landslide in value after the
canada and NA merge, luckily for me i stayed away from HCs and was smart enough to go to the NA habbo site (which held the majority of the players) and looked at furni values before the merge, and avoided what could have been a nasty moneypit! but I'm going off subject now. anyway after the merge, I thought i was pretty well off, i bet in casinos alot and did fairly well , after being cleaned by WizardofAus in late 2011 I had to start from the beginning again, and took a year break from habbo, when 2012 came around i logged on my storage character, which had very little on it mind you, and sold everything it had, every last normal. everything I could find, right down to the spare cabbages in the room titled asdfaegag that I forgot about.

I ended up with about 22Credits. (pathetic right) but I had a plan.

For a long time I was buying 3 furni for a credit, sacks for 18c, selling them for 19c, that sort of thing, and i began to build wealth. and i got pretty good at it, after i was cleaned out another 3 times.

The best starter ways for worth are as follows.

Gold Coins - buy for 9 - swap 2 for a sack, sell your sack for 19c - 1c profit per.

Lodge Corner Plinth - buy in bulk 2 for 1c, sell 3 for 2c. or 1c ea if they're desperate.
(even better prof)

Club sofas -Buy 3 for 2c - Sell 1 C ea.

Sacks - try and get them for 18. they usually have to be desperate, but if you can , get them for 18 sell them for 19. make an easy 1c.

Short Grass patches - Buy at 3 for 2c sell at 1c Per (High Demand, people want them, they look great, the MP sells for 2/3 you shouldn't have trouble selling them)

These methods take time, and it can be a little frustrating, Time seems to be the enemy and you could swear sometimes you can sell something instantly, othertimes you're stuck with it for hours.

The key factor is risk; with trading it's very rare you will lose profit with these basic methods, it's slower, but it's guaranteed, and that's a stable income from a basic method that doesn't take any brain power, easy, simple, effective, just a slow grind. stick to it, don't give up, stay dedicated.

You want to keep doing the above methods, until you reach a capitol of at least 50C (you actually want more than this, 50c is just the bare minimum i'd even suggest to try and work with)

Minimum Capitol - 50C.
Recommended Capitol - 100C.
Easy Mode Capitol - 250c.

Betting.

Now comes the harder part - Betting. Risking money for a fast profit. you will win lots, you will lose lots.
it will go in runs, you will never win lose win lose win lose, 50-50 it will always be a landslide one way or the other , and how much capitol you have will decide whether or not you survive it, the recommended capitol can still not be enough, Most of us , have been cleaned several times, and have had to start at nothing again, so if you feel like 100c isnt enough by all means keep saving, because nothing sucks more than being cleaned and having to grind up a betting capitol again (I've had to do it about 5 times in the last two years , and its been awful every time, but habbo is a hobby, not my life, so i like to stay dedicated and see how well i can do , instead of just giving up, and I do fairly well)

I started betting with a capitol of about 200c. after getting cleaned on 50c multiple times.

The Strategy,

The only strategy to betting, are two basic rules,

Same Game.
Double on loss.

Always play the same game. Always double when you lose.

most games have a dealer advantage. and if they dont the dealer is either going to

scam you,
quit,
or become your new best friend.
if it's too good to be true it is. - no exceptions

let's say you decide to play 13 against the dealer. and you lose your first game and 5 credits
(thats okay, in fact, thats what you want)
on your second game , you double up. 10 credits this time. you lose again. damn, thats a hefty blow, 15 credits down and nothing to show for it. on your third game, you're now going to bet 20 credits, (damn this is getting serious) but oh, look at that, the dealers luck didn't last forever, and you've won your 20 credits, and 20 credits back.

you had 100 credits, you used 15, so you had 85 remaining, you then bet 20 credits, and were sitting on 65. but you won, and got 40 credits back. you're now sitting on 105 credits. and have made a profit of 20 coins.

you now begin at 5 credits again, and continue until you accrue some wealth :)

The hard parts:

It sounds good on paper (or on screen hohoho)
but the reality is, most dealers don't like you stacking them, and will either tell you outright, or pretend to be
AFK on the third bet, a good idea, is to use trusted casinos, and when you lose, play the same game with
another dealer, eventually you're going to win , and you're not frustrating the heck out of the guy you just stack betted 4 times so that you could make 20 credits off of him.

Try to use the same dealers, that you've played with before, they will trust you more as a player, and you will trust them more because you know they're not going to run off with your bet.

Risk:

occasionally , you can have a literal 10 game loss
this sucks and happens rarely, but when it does, you really , really hate everything and everyone in the casino you just lost in, which is why you can NEVER have too much capitol , NEVER , EVER.

Occasionally , you're going to get scammed (it will happen, more than once, to whom you least expect aswell and when it does you really , really hate everything and everyone in the casino you were just scammed in, which is why you can NEVER have too much capitol , NEVER , EVER. got it? CAPITOL - YOUR BEST FRIEND.

Dealing.

Dealing is another great way to gamble. The games are usually in your favour, so you generally win more, you know the strategy for people trying to make money, so you can stop people stacking you or politely pretend
to be AFK if that suits you better :P

Tips for dealing,

create a maximum bet. that's right. no chance of winning that 5gb bet against you. you need a maximum bet, that maximum bet should be no more than 10% of your wealth. because if you lose, you've lost 20% of your wealth, (1/4 of everything you own, GOSH) suddenly a 10c maximum sounds reasonable while you have next to credits ;) Make sure you play with a cap. and make sure someone doesn't stack you more than 3 times. because chances are, you will lose. and they'll win it all back. + profit.

Bet Limits. 10% of your wealth.
Game Limits. 3 games to the same player.

Owning/Co Owning an Arcade

Once you have accrued 1000 Credits or so, you might want to consider building your own little coin factory. I mean arcade and sell dealer entry to other gamblers, as well as roll the dice.
or you might want to buy dealer entry at someone elses (though i wouldn't recommend it, as at any time they can simply remove your rights and you've lost a heap of money for nothing)

Things to remember:

Set The price for Dealer entry too high, and no one will play.

Set The price for Dealer entry too low, and your casino will be full of scammers.

reward good behavior at the casino, make regulars who bet large, and consistently pay when they lose a trial at being a room mod, they'll feel rewarded by acknowledging them as safe, trusted habbos and will (hopefully)keep there eyes peeled for other potential scammers meaning more betting time for you!

If your casino is ugly, people wont play there.

Final talking points

being cleaned.

It's not the end of the world, if it wasn't possible to be completely cleaned (it wouldn't be gambling)

There's always someone with more money than you, don't flare it around or try to impress everyone,

There's always someone with less money than you, don't take your bets for granted
(are you sure you want to bet a gold bar to that 1 month old habbo that doesn't have a Dealer badge at any casinos you recognize and an achievement score of 600 even though his badge says "trusted dealers" at a casino you dont recognize?)

You will get cleaned (eventually) it happens to everyone, no one is immune to losing everything.

talking points for getting cleaned,

Consider where you went wrong, (or where you didn't)
Consider the fastest way you accrued the majority of your wealth before betting, so you can do it again.
Dont get angry.
Dont rage log and repurchase that runescape subscription.
Dont add me and tell me how my guide caused you to lose everything.
Especially don't take that frustration away from the keyboard,

it's a game, it's a hobby, and most importantly it's fun. - if it's not fun for you anymore, stop.

Best of luck to all of you, if you have any further questions, feel free to add me ingame.

You can do it, You can get back up after being cleaned, and You will thank me for this guide eventually :)

What I started with: 22 Credits.

I haven't read it all but you say buy HC Sofas 2 for 3c then sell 1c per, do you mean that the opposite way round?

A nice guide nevertheless, I don't really bet anyone other than my friends though :P.

I sadly do not have the patience lol

I would suggest selling short grass 2c per instead of 1c per, I never had trouble doing that :P I did the HC sofa thing as well for a while^

Nice guide.

Stacking is a surefire way to get yourself cleaned. There is a reason you ended up with 22c!

AussieGambler
04-04-2013, 04:33 PM
I ended up with 22c because I was linkscammed.

stacking won't necessarily cause you to lose everything
, unless you don't have the capitol to survive,
which is why i recommend a huge section to building capitol.
and also why I even included the fact that nobody is safe from being cleaned
at the end of the day
if you think you'll have better luck placing constant bets at the same value,
or whale betting occasionally or a seperate strategy again
it's completely up to you,
the guide is for people who don't really have anythingto get a general idea
and a positive point in a direction of "where to start" it's not a strict "YOU MUST DO THIS OR ELSE"
i'm just trying to help. maybe you could write your own guide kyle, I'm not saying everyone has to or should do this.
but it's a good foundation and I don't particularly think I'm giving bad advice, but if you do ,
by all means write your own guide.

I thought I'd do an update on how I'm doing - for those of you that are curious.
I've done a few large bets since I last posted I lost a 5gb bet, I doubled, and lost , again, doubled and lost again, (yes thats 5 + 10+ 20+ 35gbs. I did however, win a 70gb bet following that. And have since decided my casino wasn't pretty enough.

so I've changed, it, in other news I thought I'd continue the guide to making money once the casino is built

Getting the Most out of your Arcade.

it is important to remember, that people generally would like something for nothing (it's human nature)
so lets look at a few different examples of drawing in a crowd.

Give Aways.
Last Man Standing
Betting Deals
Badge Rewards.

Give Aways

so, this is the easiest way to draw people into your casino, Room population, and room rating is everything to some people, remember that, Most habbos browsing promos are searching for keywords like "Giveaway" "Free" "Win"
Make sure to include it, make sure it sounds like they're getting something for nothing. that really appeals to human nature.

Last Man Standing

This is a great way to generate Room population and rating, build a small area in your casino for "last man standing" a game where simply, the last person left is the winner, make the reward something extremely appealing mine is usually 2goldbars or rares to the winner. this is an excellent way to keep your room population up and at the top of the room list :)

Betting Rewards

it's no secret that most games favor the dealer, 13o perhaps more so than others.
so on games where the dealer has a big advantage (13o specifically) do deals that see them win more than 2x. (even though they probably wont) for example "Bet a Sack -Win a Goldbar 13o" lots of people will take this bet, simply because of that higher payout, even though there's a huge chance they probably wont win in 13o the payout is appealing.
structure your games this way to maximize punter attention.

Badge Rewards

once your casino is up and buzzing, consider rewarding players who play there frequently and demonstrate good behavior with a trial mod badge, trial meaning "not permanent" and they'll strive to continue to prove themselves, and "mod" meaning position of authority , both of these appeal to human nature, the desperate need to prove themselves, and a lust for power and control. human nature is an easy thing to work with. having the opportunity to become a room mod if they continue playing there and behaving well, is an excellent way to keep regular patrons coming back :)

Here's my casino now - in Stage 2 of it's infancy, now with last man standing :)

Also, you didn't hear it from me, but a certain Australian Gambler, has almost 100 aloe veras in storage that he's hoarding and he'd recommend you start picking them up while they're still less than 30c each ;)

Nice post, but you can't escape the fact that betting in that way is a gamblers fallacy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system)).

hey all , just an update. I haven't been on habbo in quite some time due to my best friend passing away shortly after getting my habbox events trial and i just sort of alienated myself from everything, habbo was certainly the last thing on my mind understandably , I'm not sure if I want to continue playing right now, But i thought I'd show some pictures of how i've gone from my 20 credit start.

after a little over half a year , I've done exceedingly well , at least for my expectations. and I'm happy with the progress I made.

I'm not really sure what i want to do now. I'm balancing holding myself together and not having a breakdown by dumping overtime on myself consistently. so i dont really have time for habbo while I'm dealing with things. but I thought those of you curious might like to see the progress I eventually made.

I probably won't be on habbox very often (if at all) for quite some time, but I'd like to say the community here is exceptionally supportive (for the most part) and Should be proud of the plethora of work, support and events they provide for the habbo community.

Goodbye for now :)
