Have you ever struggled to find that furni that you really want? Constantly spamming your console and asking your friends? Are you banging your head against the wall in frustration (please see a doctor)? We, the Rare Values department, are introducing a new service by the name of the Habbox Trade Team!
The Habbox Trade Team is a service where you can tell us what furni you are looking for and at what price, and we will make it our goal to look for that furni for you. All you have to do is PM HxRareValues and fill in the following form:
Habbo Name:
Furni Wanted:
Credits Offering*:
Deadline:
*If you are asking for multiple furni, please state the offer per furni.
Upon receiving the PM, we will work hard to answer to your request and then sell it to you at the price you asked for, no more, no less. There isn't a guarantee that we will fulfill all requests but you will be notified about any change in the process via HabboxForum IM. We take a zero tolerance policy on abuse of this system and anyone found to be abusing it will be permanently banned from using it again.
If you every have any questions or problems, feel free to let myself or a Head Staff Member know.
Will
Actually quite like the idea, Not 100% on how it works, But surely they should pay a deposit?

Credit to Inseriousity. for the idea and after much discussion (so many scenarios were thought of and solutions as well), it is great idea and if we don't try, we don't know what will happen.
I don't see how it is a way to lose money, the user will have their offer so they don't pay any extra and the HxTT don't lose money unless the user abandons the trade although the HxTT member still has the furni and that user will be banned.

The system is currently in its beta stages with it being a completely new idea so we have no previous system to refer to and have to start it from scratch. We hope to do more of this with other departments and in general so if you have any ideas of services that Habbox could provide, anyone can feel free to share! We also welcome feedback on this current idea and how we can improve it but we'll have to ask for patience with it as well to test it out.
As for a deposit, it has been explained to RVRs that it's a high risk service (hence our zero tolerance policy of abusing it, no second chances) but I'd rather avoid solutions to these issues that involve the user trusting us (which means it'd be limited to only those who are already die-hard users of Habbo) and come up with solutions behind the scenes that'll make it less risky for RVRs.

also dont get why they have to pm an account only the manager has access to, cut out the middle man and make a forum the department can see all threads in

Yeah seems like a very big risk for the Rare Values team to go buy a variety of furniture, and the person buying no longer needs..
Good idea though I guess. :P

Perhaps I'll sneakily request a bunch of furni which are about to plummet in value, stall for a week and then the dept makes a massive loss.

Yeah although I did bring up a few concerns at first, I think it is a nice idea in theory and we may as well try it out to see how it goes rather than just making assumptions. However, it would be nice if there was a better method instead of having to PM.

Heads also have access and it is posted into a forum for all to see. I wanted an automated account or a widget form but I don't think we are allowed that atm.

I don't get how it would be a loss :S You say what price you are going to pay and the deadline. When making the request the user should bare in mind future value although most furni don't change value by much in a few days. We wouldn't make a loss as long as the user sticks to the rules.

still a middleman situation.. let people post directly instead of waiting for someone to read the pm then pass it on
Knowing how lazy most of the rare value team can be, I don't see this working very well :P

Its better to have a thread for staff to discuss the request rather than a thread where anyone can post because it just asks for comments and requests that don't use the form.

have a stickied thread in the staff forum to discuss all requests?
disable the ability to reply to other peoples threads excluding staff?
disable the ability to see other peoples threads entirely excluding staff?
the form runs a risk of not being used anyway

If those two can be done, then I guess that could work well. At least it saves time, as Will would currently have to be checking PMs on the rare values account and then post them in the staff forum and that could potentially create a long gap between when the user PMs, and when the rare values staff are notified.

I guess it would be better to have a forum for that, it would be something like managers request threads. I'll look into it.

I don't know, I'd say Habbox has a lot of benefits atm. Maybe its not doing brilliant in a whole but all in all I think its a pretty decent site ;)

Brilliant retort.
you could say that about the whole fansite.
He has a point though. Habbox receives support and (sometimes) donations from its members to keep the community alive, I don't see what they get in return for this particular service, or frankly who would even use it when the marketplace is so accessible.
Inseriousity.
10-04-2013, 09:28 PM
Well as I got the idea from members of the community spamming my inbox trying to buy stuff (seemingly without success considering they kept doing it), there is a market out there. It's not going to be the first resort because if you manage to find it yourself it's obviously not needed but if, after a while you're still struggling, an extra pair of eyes looking when you've been looking yourself for a while doesn't hurt. It's just a small service that Habbox will provide for the community.
"sell it to you no more no less" what if you buy it for less than the offer... do you keep the credits?
Inseriousity.

That's the incentive given to the RVRs (that they get to keep the profit they make) but that's really like any normal trader and as the user sets the price, they can set it at exactly the market value and the RVRs will have to do it out of kindness.

As much as I do actually see a good market for using this, not sure if this will attract new members personally though I'm sure existing members will probably be attracted to it if they build a lot!
the problem I see is that if someone buys all the stuff beforehand at same price/cheaper would they be able to state that they done this as that is probably what will happen with the use alongside searching, and this obviously causes problems if the rvr has already now bought the furni. Considering this could possibly be quite common!

We don't waste any time or resources really. If no one uses it, the only effort put in was making the thread. The work is really minimal as all we do is look for the furni and trade with you if we can find it.

That is always going to be a problem but communication is key, as soon as the RV staff finds the furni, they will notify the user via IM or PM and we hope the user does the same for us if they find it. If the other party is told that the request is no longer needed then there's no loss.

So if someone requests like 50 tubmasters or something that no-one ever wants someone in this team will go and buy them all and then hope that the person hasn't changed their mind and left them stuck with a lot of crap
Sounds like it's gonna involve a lot of trusting strangers

Like I've said, abusers of the system will be banned, there is no guarantee we will find it and we can't force staff to do every request so some may be overlooked if seen to be unrealistic.

Not gonna lose money since they're gonna know if someone is abusing it. And they're gonna get the furni, so never going to lose anything/much.

I think its a really good idea really, yes it might be abused by some people- however I think even for Habbox staff and current members of the community it will be a really useful service too. I quite often see threads asking for people to help them get furni for a project/new room etc- and having a whole department looking out for them too will significantly improve the chances of finding that item quicker.
Especially for players who don't have the patience to go around all the shops etc to find things :( I will certainly be using it! :P

We should have a thread in the RV forum where if one of us finds the furniture, they'll post there, so others know they don't need to keep looking anymore. First person to post they have it, will be the one selling.

When you find the item, or one of the items, you post in the thread in staff forum to make sure other people don't go buying the same thing - then you contact the buyer yourself via VM/PM.

The issue I was quoting was the problem of the user finding the furni before the HxTT, so PMing between them 2 is key. The issue wasn't 2 HxTT members finding it :P But I've already said to post as soon as you found it in that staff guide.

The main issue I find with it is that if somebody needs something. They would ask the team, but they wouldn't just stop looking themselves because they will want it quickly. This just means that if they find it before the Team, then it's fairly pointless. & that's not really abusing the system either, so they can't really get in trouble for it.
On paper, it's a good idea. But realistically, I don't think it will be a great hit. Good idea though. :)

Like I've already said, it's all about contact. Whether we find it or the user finds it first, I expect either to message the other that they have found it to stop the search. We aren't stopping people from looking for the furni, it's just that if they do, they tell us and we stop the search.

Inseriousity.; xxMATTGxx; can we get a quick link like Habbox.com/tradeteam - will be easier to link people, like with the messages in mine and Varnius' trade rooms. Instead of saying 'go to HabboxForum.com for more' because them they have to find in themselves :P.
Not a bad idea, however not sure how many man/lady hours will be needed to find such furniture?

It depends on the rarity, norms or classic rares will be much easier to find as opposed to some key super rares, ultra rares and categorised rares.

potentially seems rather risky. someone could pm you twice for something and then never comeback again. its not overly farfetched, some users post once to advertise/sell something and the never come back.
banning them isn't gonna be much of a deterrent.

I have took part in my first hunt for some furni and I must say, it went well and was fun to do. It's a good system although like some others, I do think users should be able to have another way of putting in a request other then PM. Maybe like a request line that habboxlive has, something similar to that?
