looks like irdez deleted/closed the room. I wonder what will happen to everyone who used clones to stock up on heaps.

Really they should be banned, but due to the way they received them I don't think they can as it would be the give reward Wired so Habbo staff probably don't have a log :P.

Lachlan

Well to be honest, when Puhekupla had the Chocolate Dash Vado got the reward wired, and I have group rights to the room... You can't edit the wired, we aren't the right ranks.

Maybe they'll just remove them from everyone's accounts.

Samantha
15-04-2013, 06:44 AM
I never knew ranks took place on Wired? Unless it depends if the event was still on, who owned the room anyway was it irDez? Not the final one, I mean the one where you got the Trophies.

Lachlan
15-04-2013, 06:45 AM
I ment editing the wired, you have to be a required rank.

sexpot
15-04-2013, 06:46 AM
What do you mean by rank? Like a staff member?

Samantha
15-04-2013, 06:46 AM
I don't think they'd remove them all, even if they were received in a negative way, there are so many now due to it, remember they were in the Catalogue at one point so I don't think they'd remove for this; surely it's Habbo who are a bit at fault if the event has ended, but the Wired hadn't been removed - I don't know how they're going to sort it. Even if they did remove the ones people got today or manage to the value will probably still be wrong for a while.

---------- Post added 15-04-2013 at 07:48 AM ----------

No you don't? If it's a normal room then fine yes you need admin rights like a group admin, if you are indeed a group admin you can edit the Wired as you please. If the Wired was edited in some way and it wasn't a group room whoever the owner was looks like they're the one who did it - if it's a group room it could literally be anyone depending on how the admin is set up.

Lachlan
15-04-2013, 06:50 AM
Excuse me I think I know, lol. The Puhekupla event had this wf_wired_give_reward wot ever its called in it. When I went to edit it it told me I wasn't the right rank to do it, I had admin in the group.

Edit: Read it wrong, but it still wouldn't be able to be edited by a normal user.

---------- Post added 15-04-2013 at 04:54 PM ----------

Btw how do I get to the room?

What I'm saying is that perhaps if the event was still going on the rank needs to be higher than usual - like I believe the ThisHabbo event was done with therefore the rank would have been the same for any other admin in the group. It must only be set on that Wired then. No need to get defensive I was just saying how all Wired works. It'd have to be the room owner or above then perhaps?

Did the room have a prize before? Could they win the trophies or was it just a badge - if it was a trophy it's just simple to let people in the room before staff pick up the Wired, but then again I believe it was irDez who removed the room so I don't think it would have been him. The prize room might have also been the final, winner's room of one of the Double Trouble events as aren't they giving out Trophies so you wouldn't need to edit the Wired at all.

If it is a staff member they probably just forgot to move it, if this is the case, it isn't a player's fault, also the final room whereby players got the trophy is usually a staff-owned room anyway so maybe they were just preparing for a new event :P.

Lachlan

People usually say things like that in threads and a lot on caption phrase competitions :P.

Completely agree, the super rare is ruined - a couple of years ago Freeze! furni was put in the Catalogue for free, it wasn't removed off of anyone and then it went to about 4-10 for 1 Credit; it's still around 1-4 per 1 Credit now so imagine what would happen with a super rare that has had hundreds more put into circulation.

It's only ruined by the user, staff did not ruin the super rare. They're doing their best to help you guys, it's people like IrDaz who obviously gave away the password that is ruining that. Usul who was given the super-rare gold trophy as a prize never abused that.

I'm sure there are exploits such as this that happen every week without public knowledge. I was skeptical from the first moment I heard fansites were going to be given more power and I am still opposed to it.

Events should be run by a third party (staff) who are not enticed to exploit the systems in order to improve their own standing within Habbo. Most of these fansites are run by teenagers who are greedy and irresponsible. It's fine to give fansites some power, but nothing that can alter the economy. Badges was enough, now they can rerelease super rares? This has gone too far.

It was a room owned by irDez and therefore he set the room password. I have a feeling I know what happened but won't point the finger until I hear more. Either way, it's a terrible shame. Shows that users should not have access to a room that gives out super rares. Usul was sensible with his/hers. irDez wasn't.

I think Powertoo may have made the room, put password as 'changeme..' and then moved it to his account or something. Why would irDez have put the password as 'changeme..' - but who ever set the password, they could have at least had some random numbers like 'changeme84772'

Nah, it was the final room that he owned. When you went through it was a room owned by Powertoo with the wired. He must have set it for something easy so 1) he could get clones through 2) he could get his staff through to cheat and fund his fansite. Backfired spectacularly.

Im on 3g at the moment, so really will make it quick until I'm home. Yep, i take full responsibility, the room was pw'd for ages and I left all teleports in the room, i had to go early. For one, i don't memorise Habbo room passwords and certainly even I didn't know what it was. I apologise for all, genuine mistake. Emailed powertoo as quick as I could and spoke to Jord, along with picking and removing the room as quick as I could. Wasn't the case of giving it to every user nor my staff. However i do admit going in on a clone as somebody called Endroo won 2 trophies but could only get one. I guess this is what happens though when you have furniture togice away, people just keep going n going on room pw'ds. Also had unauthorised access on my Habbo account (safety lock?) when I logged in, but I wont look for excuses.

I will defend Powertoo though. Has put trust into us, yep. However, she told us we can either have a bat poster or a little silver trophy to give away - what would you pick?

thanks to mec for his comments though. Will see how it pans out.

Same, but it'd then be unfair on people who bought them from the marketplace if they suddenly get removed - then the actual accounts have the creds. So it'd only be fair if they reversed the trades/sales and refunded credits to people who bought these 'extra trophies' genuinely.

Also this problem CAN'T be fixed. They have been traded SO MUCH that it will be confusing and VERY time consuming to find the trophy ID's, then find the trades link and backtrack on them all. People with them now (who think it is a real winners / old trophy) will be gutted if it gets taken.

Kyle

You shouldn't be allowing people to even win twice, if they win an event twice that gives a badge they don't get two badges... Fair enough if they go to a clone and do the event again but if it's on the ame account you should just tell them they can't get another prize. That is what the wired is set to tell them, after all.

habbox needs to do an event and give out twilight trophies

I believe this fansite should be removed as he has wrecked this furnitures value and thrown this piece of furni to hell - this will never return to its original price and will always be the fault of this abusive fan site owner. We should be able to trust fansites, they should be the gem of Habbo - not the centre of a scandal.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't my staff and no, I didn't give them out for free.

I left them in a locked room, which had been locked for a few days. People saying "abusive fansite owner" is far from wrong. Abusive if I had given out the password, yes. But I didn't. I don't save my Habbo room passwords & I'm pretty sure I felt it was safe as nobody got out their previously, it was somebody just attempting to do what they can to enter my room and spreaded it. Emailed Powertoo as fast as I could and removed the room. Yep, passwords should of been more secure, but I had completely forgotten, myself, what it was. Again, I take responsibility, but nothing more I could of done when I knew about it.

This is a good statement but I highly doubt in the world of Habbo that somebody would actually sit and guess passwords then 'randomly' come up with changeme123 like... that is not the top of anybodys head to even guess that NEVER MIND think that somebody else would put that as a password. Who is to blame for the password being leaked though? The person who set it. That person owns a fansite and with the backing of Sulake had heavy traffic. It is unfair on people who spent time on the event, who already owned a trophy and those who purchased them thinking they had got a bargain not knowing one idiot had set a ridiculous password.

Let's not steer away from the point here guys.

1. The IrDez dude was in control of a single teleporter that with a click of a button gave a 70c furniture away. He had a responsibility to maintain and failed to do so.

2. This stems to the bigger issue; Habbo mgmt giving control to a Habbo fansite owner. Not giving any sources away, but I know firsthand that this has been abused in the past and not reported. Think about it like this... If you have access to a teleporter for a super that gives a 70c furni, you have every incentive to abuse that. You could legit profit 200+gb if done properly.

3. I'm going to send an email through Contact Us. It will probably get overlooked. I had 5 of those trophies losing around 300c in total due to someone elses mistake. Will I be compensated? Probably not. If Habbo think its wise to transfer power to a dumb fansite owner, they'll see their userbase get hostile. Probably the last thing they need considering recent events.

Well if someone knew that was the room with the teleport, then they may have spend a long time trying to work it out with the incentive that every account they got in to that room would get them ~70c.

Ahh well he still should of had room with door bell.
Yeah that'd definitely be a better idea, but tbh if I made this room I'd probably put a password on it as well. When I password a room I don't expect people to go guessing it, but I expect only the people I share it with to be able to get in, and you won't get loads of people ringing the doorbell :P. But yeah, a door bell would actually be more secure, unless the password was harder to guess.

No, you're completely right - normally it's the easier passwords which are harder to guess and I completely did think that after they got in. Nothing fishy - why would I risk to expose and let everybody have a trophy when I could of just made tons of credits? I'm not an idiot, but going back to my point. No, I didn't give the password out. End of the day, was my responsibility, yup, but I never record my Habbo room passwords. It's not a serious thing for me, but obviously, I've learned for the future.

Who is to blame for the password being leaked though? The person who set it. That person owns a fansite and with the backing of Sulake had heavy traffic. Ruined their entire week for me. Mistakes can happen, sure. Doesn't mean someone should not be held accountable.

Yup, me and the team spent time also creating the event. Why would we do that? You state it's unfair to people who spent time to win the event - what about us making it? We put all of our effort in fansite week and wasted our own money to buy credits for it. We, obviously, didn't want to ruin it down to this...

changeme meaning change this password :P..
When I changed peoples passwords on my website I'd put it as changeme123 (something like that) which implies that you have to change your password. The person guessing the password may have been thinking 'ok, maybe Powertoo made this room and the password was temporary' - also, don't forget that there could have been multiple people trying to guess the password to the room, and not just one person.

Would be good if guessing a room password 10+ times inaccurately locked you out of that room for a certain time period.

i didnt say they were young compared to other habbos, i mean theyre too young to actually be responsible and not abuse trust.

i wasnt rude, unfortunately people on this forum dont seem to have much understanding of what that word means or what constitutes rudeness. fansites have been given a platform to showcase themselves and do events (ang give prizes), that is a role.

That's like saying they can't work because they will steal money from the till :S?

---------- Post added 15-04-2013 at 08:20 PM ----------

Well this is a damn mess. Regular users should NEVER have the ability to give out furniture for free, let alone super rares. The blame of this falls equally on both the fansite, and the staff.

This I would say is a good point, however my event ran smoothly with no abuse of the furni prize, so yeah not in all cases.

That's not how you said it at all. I quote:

You are implying that all fansite users, but especially fansite owners, have never been trustworthy because they're young and therefore not very intelligent.

its not my fault you misunderstood what i said. im not going to repeat myself again, my meaning could not have been clearer and i really cant be arsed to explain it to someone so obtuse.

Yeah I agree that one event going wrong is not a reason to stop all of them from having this ability in the future. The rooms just need to be made secure (e.g. by blocking the door so that people guessing the password successfully can get in to the room but not get past the door, therefore not be able to gain access to the rare item).

its not my fault you misunderstood what i said. im not going to repeat myself again, my meaning could not have been clearer and i really cant be arsed to explain it to someone so obtuse.
Well then what is the true meaning of your post that I'm apparently too obtuse to understand? Seemed pretty clear to me!

No he has not. He keeps saying the most he could have done - was done. Well maybe if he hadn't set the password and then posted in ThisHabbo staff forums the password it would not have been leaked to Plane who leaked to Isaac who leaked to everyone. He posted it so his staff could benefit. Backfired and all he can say is he did his best. Maybe not letting his staff in would have been more effective.

Stop trying to cause trouble. No one on Thishabbo staff team had the password nor was it posted in staff forums so please shut up and get your facts right before accusing all the staff of cheating! Yeah, it was a bad thing to happen, but I can assure you, none of the staff were involved in this, and someone actually went and bruteforced the password from my understanding.

It wasn't brute-forced, the time taken to ascertain a password such as that would have taken a lonnggg time. The password was either guessed or leaked...

This thread can go on all day back and forth but someone needs to be held responsible at the end of the day for screwing up the economy, and considering how poor the professionalism is over at thishabbo, in regards to their staff, fake giveaway events for listeners, abusive staff members, I have little sympathy for this slip up.

If the owner came out and said hey, yes we have a clear problem with our fansite and it needs to be fixed, then I am sure we would be more happy to help out etc, but shifting the blame away is not the answer.

After much thought and reading this thread I am confident someone at thishabbo leaked the password to the room, and that it wasn't cracked.

I wonder if there is a way to find out who owned the item prior to the event and then compensate them someway. Surely that's possible? I remember hp81$ who I used to hang around (a coder) was doing queries on all sorts of stuff like this.

Yeah it doesn't make sense, especially with irDez (no offence, I'm not picking sides :P) saying he didn't know the password, yet he had to go in on a clone, so must have known it surely?

It is the past. What more do you want? & as for @comity, saying **** about the staff, for one, they had to complete the event, just as everyone else. For two, there were only about 10 winners over the two hour span the event was going on. That is 5 people an hour.. it is not like he let everyone get in to get the trophy. There were 48 people in the room throughout the whole event. But once again, all of this over someone getting the password. Many people got the trophy because you leaked it on an even bigger scale. Ironic because you are blaming irDez for ruining the prices when so many people who read this thread got the trophy aswell. I personally think that involving ThisHabbo's fansite in general is a bit to much. A lot of your staff are and some were here (as staff on occasions) before your fansite even existed.

Yeah a stupid mishap, but the password should have been changed, you can dress it up or apologise as much as you want it was irDez's job to change it which he didn't - yeah he might have forgot it, but due to that the market for the Silver Trophy is ruined and now staff have to do even more work. You're just not seeing the point here.. The point is, if she gave him the option of having that as the prize, the price is obviously going to go down. If someone were to ask what they got and it happened to be a bat poster, they would automatically be like wtf that is dumb and leave. But when they heard that it was the silver trophy, they stayed to play the event. But once again, there were only 10 trophies given away.. 10 isn't going to make that much of a price drop, now is it? You have no idea if she won it or not. >_>

Exactly, it was a 2minute Tri-Wizard Tournament which went on for 2 hours.

End of the day now, I think it's nearly all sorted, which is good news. Trophies are being pulled back.

well numerous people are reporting them being gone.. idk from what date they are being removed...
and sure you "won" it lmao!!! gd1

They're probably the ones who bought/received the "stolen" ones. I did win it for myself. Nobody got in without winning the event.

I hope that they are removed. I don't mind myself, just for the people who owned already existing ones.

This is how I am about it all too.

Why :S?

---------- Post added 15-04-2013 at 05:07 PM ----------

Same, but it'd then be unfair on people who bought them from the marketplace if they suddenly get removed - then the actual accounts have the creds. So it'd only be fair if they reversed the trades/sales and refunded credits to people who bought these 'extra trophies' genuinely.

Would the whole process of reversing the trades etc be too much hassle for them, would it even be possible? And if it were possible would they really bother? I don't think they'll really take any action on the trophies being released which would be horrible if you've got them in bulk

I won mine from the event I completed myself. I still have mine....

---------- Post added 16-04-2013 at 04:05 PM ----------

You're just not seeing the point here.. The point is, if she gave him the option of having that as the prize, the price is obviously going to go down. If someone were to ask what they got and it happened to be a bat poster, they would automatically be like wtf that is dumb and leave. But when they heard that it was the silver trophy, they stayed to play the event. But once again, there were only 10 trophies given away.. 10 isn't going to make that much of a price drop, now is it? Also, I know because I was at the event the whole time!
I think it's you that's missing the point tbh :P. All I'm saying is that the fansite was NOT forced to have a Silver Trophy as the prize which is what someone was saying was the case, and trying to blame Powertoo.

Definitely possible, but definitely would be time consuming if they're going to refund the people who bought them and take credits off the people who first got them from the room and sold them. If they can't be bothered to do that, and I wouldn't blame them really, then they shouldn't remove any of them at all.

I don't think there's one user who'd choose a bat poster over a silver cup trophy.

I'm glad I didn't buy one then..
__

I didn't say people would or would not like them. I'm just saying that they weren't forced to have a Silver Trophy as the prize, which is the way the person I quoted was making it sound. And just because you don't like a bat poster, I'm sure some people would :P.

I never said people would prefer a Bat Poster to a Silver Trophy. If the Bat Poster was the prize, and no one knew of any other possible prizes and no one had a choice, I'm sure people would still take it. To some people it would be a nice prize to receive, and is better than nothing and so should be appreciated. What I'm saying, and I can't believe I'm having to repeat myself again, they were NOT forced to have the Silver Trophy as the prize. I am not comparing it, I'm just saying it wasn't a decision forced upon them by Powertoo.

I didn't say you said people would prefer the Bat poster, but if that's what they got I'm sure people would sit and complain about receiving a Bat Poster a prize. Likewise with receiving a rare prize, people complain that it decreases their value if a few people win, so you can't really win to be honest.

Prizes at Habbox Events are often worth the same or less than a Bat Poster :P.

Lol, nice, I remember winning the Dino. It was in Ludus' rugby and I was the only player left on one team and the other had about 7 left - they had the fridge and Ludus said "If she wins I'll give her a Dino" and no one went to the fridge on the other team so they got kicked and I won. Fun story that isn't it :P?

Posting a password on a public forum yet the member has only recently joined, look at some other threads, find the maturity as it's a lot higher than other fansites.

There we go then, you're telling me like it was something unworthy of a prize. Which it is. You can buy that from the catalogue which would cost you about 50p to be able to purchase a 6 credit flatscreen TV.

I don't think bat posters are in the catalogue but to be honest as a fansite owner irdez should be grateful that he is being given any furni to give as a prize considering how far removed habbo were from their fansites just a few months ago. There was absolutely not need to be greedy, people will have attended his event regardless because it was habbo official, the larger prize only enticed the other greedy habbos out there that probably had no interest in his site anyways.

Can't believe they've taken the trophies from people who legitimately bought them, this is almost as bad as the gold bar dupe late last year that was abused. Perpetrators then weren't punished (or were, then had their bans removed) and I doubt anything further is going to be done in this situation either. All because some idiot gives out (or people guess ... whatever way you want to spin it) their room password. such noobs own fansites these days lol
