hire me when you make a profit
good job on finally getting it back up and running ;) next thing on your list is making it so australians can use it :)
please add "how much i wish to pay" or w.e so we can see the conversion rate without having the reverse convert it. say I want to pay £1.50, I currently have to input 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 etc. until I get my desired number, it would be easier to just input 1.50 and it returns that i'd get 50p right away.

I love the bit where I can't use SSL on a financial website..
https://smstopaypal.com/
I'd recommend getting this sorted ;)

Nothing financial is done on their site though.

Perhaps I don't like my PayPal email getting sent across the internet unencrypted.

Shut it down originally to expand, which we still plan to do. But in the future :)

Am I tight or is £9 a bit much when all you want to transfer is a fiver? I understand it's needed to keep the site going and stuff but 80% of what I want to put in?

They can't help it
On a £5 transaction, impulsepay takes something like 25% (so basically £2), then you've got VAT and Paypal fees (something like 5%)
So, last time I had access to the figures anyway on a £5 transaction, smstopaypal gets something like 40p and impulsepay gets like 5 times that

This, unfortunately it is very expensive to transfer money from SMS and then send it over to Paypal, hence why there is literally one company that does it (SMStoPaypal, hehe)

SUrely you should know whether it is or isn't on the to do list, Ross? :L

Off a £9 payment, SMStoPayPal only received £6.75 from impulsepay - nevermind other charges. So really it isn't too much. They make even less off the smaller charges - so it would be nonsensical to charge less.

As we do have quite a lot of work at the moment we have a lot on the to do list. So its somewhere in there :)
Also yeh, we never said it was a cheap way to pay, but by all means its efficient and wanted very much by the public.

Fair enough :)
Definitely not questioning whether you said it was cheap - to me it is totally expected, and will surely be a benefit for younger users (who can't get money on PayPal).

LONG STORY... in short, our provider has a very sensitive fraud protection and it seems to keep hitting us, then we have to wait a few months to get unsuspended. Which is why we have begun talking to other companies.
