Ever Been Scammed?

Hey all,
I was chatting with a friend who just got scammed on Minecraft.
While it is completely different to being scammed out of money, the principal stands that he got scammed.
It lead me onto a question. How many people here at Habbox have been scammed in any form?
If so, when? How? Was it your mistake?

i dunno if i was ever scammed in anywhere other than habbo, but i remember as i was trading one time someone purposely distracted me as they took coins out of the trade and got my furni for quite cheap :(

On Habbo I got door scammed like the other month and I have been playing that game for 4+ years how did this happen to meeee.

Never been scammed irl though, unless Costa Coffee's crap food and service is bad enough to count as a scam? :P

Yes, when I had my account Sharkboy908 (You oldies will remember it) and someone took all my furni and changed my password so i couldn't get back on the account. Yes i know that like hacked and not scammed but still

last year some time some noob on my friends list was betting and i thought because he was nooby (and my friend) he was trustworthy. unforuntately he scammed me a couple of creds so i harassed him for approx 2 wks lurking his rooms on navi and attacking him whenever i saw he went in them. otherwise never!

I never got scammed on Habbo or any sites. A few tried to scam me at some point but never happened yet. I don`t play Habbo anymore and got no furni due to having a huge givaway 2 years ago for a fansite so I have nothing to get scammed.

I've been scammed on habbo and runescape, had money stolen from my bank account, bank fraud etc. had companies not pay me for the work I've done and what not. The worst scam happens to me every month from the taxman.

What I say is one day the scammers will get scammed for what they have done in the past.

And I should of put yes I got scammed once but was on runescape.... around 300m cash by my own cousin but meh

Really, when I'm going to be scammed and I can tell I just ask for whatever I paid back. However, the only scam I fell for was when I'd played Habbo for a year (I had only just started playing properly) and someone told me they were buying a Valentine's Cauldron for x amount so I paid over the odds for it - of course this was before the MarketPlace existed so the other person who was supposedly buying it ran :P.

i got ma first throne on habbo and someone i thought was my friend asked to borrow it so he could pretend to his other friends that it was his and i said yes and and

I was hacked on habbo in 2005, DUE TO MY FRIEND IRL DOWNLOADING A FAKE SCRIPT THING WITHOUT TELLING ME I was scammed a throne when they were worth around 1200c I think. Probabaly around 07.
I was scammed a 1 HC bet in a moonrug casino (good memory thx) (hcs were 14c at the time)
I was quick-traded and lost 1 HC (14c at the time)
I was scammed a 50c bet to my friend ... or at least I thought he was.
I was scammed a 1c bet by a guy I betted when I was bored and already gambled away 100s of hcs and rares lol.
I was scammed a 20c bet in a super rare casino full of thrones, scammed by a dealer and then banned by the owner. This was last year.

I can easily tell if someone is a scammer or not, and 99% of the time I'm right. I just give them the benefit of the doubt, but I should go by my instinct lol! :)

n then my friend asked to borrow about 60 in total, i was like ok

I've been scammed quite a few times.

- After about a week-month on Habbo I gave someone my password because they said they were the hotel manager :'(.
- When I was making my first casino I got quicktraded a throne.
- I paid for a dragon thinking it was purple, I knew the person was scripting because this was well known about but he told me it would be purple in my room as well lol :(.
- Been scammed in bets many times, and a few times I've had friends scam me but then some of them ended up giving it back.
- More recently, got scammed 4c at a free entrance casino lol.

I've been scammed a few times due to the old 'host a game and when someone is about to win the prize (which is a mega rare emg) the owner leaves, taking all the furni you paid to win...'

Yes, someone said they'd swap me a throne for a couple of pieces of my furniture (this was about 3 years ago), so obviously with it being a throne i really wanted it and just as we were about to accept the trade, he took the throne out and put a crappy red piece of furni in and i thought i'd just got a throne :/ but i didnt and when i checked in my hand it was a 2 coin sofa :(

i got scammed once, a quick trade scam. remember it like yday, it was so hurtful. she was gonna give me a hologirl for all of my bathroom furni. all i got was a barrel stool i was cryin for DAYS.

whatever tho cos i scammed as well. had ma PALS scam a few ppl on falling furnis (such an elaborate plan) and also the "i'll buy u creds for 3hc" scam. i never bought the creds.

and got scammed irl when my aunt told me to do the dishes and she'd bake me cookies

Also, when my mum moved house, the person she was moving from tried to commit fraud of some sort. Due to the confusion of changing address, the other person could order stuff that would arrive in my old house, yet my mother would have to pay for it... Or something like that, I don't remember! But it turned out well in the end.

lol I remember when I got quick traded, when all it was to confirm was one tick. People would put the item in, tick then cancel and repeat, eventually putting in a fake item.
A lot of the time I beat the 'quick traders' though :)!

Once or twice yeah. The trick is though I have found when making friends on the net - is to be real casual and tell them as much as they'll tell you about themselves. Let them talk and give them answers and then answer what they ask etc. It sure put's the "bad apples" in a position to be exposed (if they are that way inclined).

I'm not sure if this counts as being scammed but I went to France (I think) with my school and there was a guy on a stall selling "paintings". Turns out they were just pictures with a couple of paint blobs.

Also bought a dodgy copy of World at War on eBay, and by dodgy I mean it never turned up.

whilst trying to scam someone
this guy came in asking for one of them green flasks and i had one and he said he'd buy two for like 50c they only worth like 2c so i wanted to find another one and he came online on a clone and said he had a flask and i bought it off him for loads of furni and in the end he was like "hahaha that was my clone" :/
