If you report the same post twice, your new post report replaces the comment of the previous post report, but still has the same moderator reply and status as the previous report.

I'm unsure whether this is essentially a graphical glitch on our point of view, for if it's also an issue on the MODs point of view, and that a new report on the same post will be missed, as it is already deemed closed.

Here's an example, just so your clear of what's going on:

----

"Here is my first report about this post, it has swearing in it"

This report then gets recognised, dealt with and closed as follows:

"Here is my first report about this post, it has swearing in it" "Thanks for your first report! - MOD" Closed.

If I report again on the same post:

"Here is the second report, the user has now edited their post and sworn again"

It appears as this immediately:

"Here is the second report, the user has now edited their post and sworn again" "Thanks for your first report! - MOD" Closed.

when you report a post a thread is made in the moderator forum with all the information, so i'd say it's just on your end, they will see the new report.
can't be sure though since i'm not an smod here.

I just wanted to make sure as well :P

Plus, if you report the same post again, and it's quite a way down the list of your previous reports, it stays in it's original position. Making me wonder if it does get classified as a new report or not...

This happened to me today, looks to me like it just replaces to your original comment as it doesn't reopen the case?

That's what I'm thinking, so I'd like to know if that's what happens behind the scenes as well, or it's just a display issue on our end.

The reports don't get re-opened in the control panel. All reports are posted as threads in the reports forum so any additional reports for the same post gets added to the thread.

Ahh, so it would appear at the top of the report forum then? So MODs would see new reports, and it's just an issue on our side then? That's fine then :P

Are,there not tags on something though to show a thread has been dealt with? If that is the case, wouldn't any future posts be ignored?
