A 31-year-old man has been gunned down and killed in a Hove street. Two others were shot at during the attack in Church Road at around 11:30pm last night.
Police are treating the shooting as a murder and two attempted murders.
Church Road remains closed this morning while forensics officers examine the scene.
The victim, who was from Kent, was fatally shot by a man as both of them were walking near the junction with Selborne Road.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Pollard, from the Surrey & Sussex Major Crime Team, is leading the investigation.
He said: "The victim was in the street when he was shot in the body at about 11.30pm on Saturday. He was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital (http://www.theargus.co.uk/search/?search=%22Royal+Sussex+County+Hospital%22&topic_id=606) where he sadly died in the early hours.
"Two other men, who were with the victim, were also shot at by the man as they walking in the street. We are therefore treating this as a murder and two attempted murders.
"Officers and staff from the Neighbourhood Policing Team are in the local area to assist the investigation and to speak to residents who may be concerned or worried.
"I recognise that the murder will be of considerable concern to the people of Brighton & Hove but I can assure them that this is an isolated incident. I have committed a number of resources to this investigation in an effort to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

Wow...
I don't understand how someone can do that. I mean, if I had a gun I wouldn't even dream of killing someone, I don't think I could even bring myself to pull the trigger..

Some messed up people out there.
RIP

Don't worry, our soft justice system will find him and give him 20 years, 'rehabilitate' him, and he'll be back on the streets to commit more crimes.

Murderers ought to be executed. That is justice.

Justice for justice sake serves no purpose.

What if they slip up and accuse the wrong person and kill an innocent human , though?

Are you against all wars even when just out of the moral concern that innocent people will most likely lose their lives?

If so then thats a solid moral ground to oppose the death penalty on, if not well then..

Murderers ought to be executed. That is justice.

That is not justice, that is revenge.

That is not justice, that is revenge.

Criminals disagree, thats why as the ultimate punishment when they fall out with one another they kill.

So you're basically saying 'bring back the death penalty regardless of if they kill an innocent person'?

What if, hypothetically, you or someone close to you got accused of murdering someone, when you didn't. You're gonna be killed for it - would you be very happy about dying for someone elses ways?
Now imagine if the death penalty actually did come back. I'd imagine many families will be affected by this, a large number of those will be innocent people dying, and their families having to suffer for it
etc *doubt that made sense*
