Interesting question. Not sure tbh. Does a sex change change your sex legally too?

as far as I can remember though this may be a load of rubbish so correct me if I'm wrong pls,
in terms of the law a sex change is basically a cosmetic change to make a man seem like a woman and they aren't actually a woman, so in terms of marriage etc they are still seen as a man and therefore need a civil partnership instead. might be wrong though

In the UK transsexuals can and do get their birth certs changed and can then marry someone of the opposite sex like anyone else can as of 2005. We're also pretty good for allowing it of transgender people who haven't had the cosmetic surgery, although the process you have to go through to get a trans identity recognised by law is pretty hideous

I guess it is a bit difficult to follow, didn't mean to come across snappy sorry
Basically a person is (or should be) referred to as their current self so if someone was born a man but then becomes a woman, they are a she and that's how they should be addressed. That person can marry a male as she is a female, regardless of their past as that is no longer who they are - so while men (for now) can't marry other men in this country, someone who used to be a man but is now a woman can because they have ceased to be a man. It gets even trickier when it comes to sex changes that occur AFTER marriage :P
