Coming THIS SATURDAY NIGHT to HabboxLive...

http://tashload.com/Uploader/uploads//dZvuALs.gif

Questions will be asked via the REQUEST LINE, SKYPE (via message or LIVE CALL IN) or a PM ON THE FORUM. If you want to stay anonymous, then sending a shout out in is the best way but we will not give your name out no matter which method (unless you want us to of course).

There will be a guest joining me each week to give their opinions on the questions. We are also happy to accept listener's answers to questions and may even GIVE OUT PRIZES to the best advice!

We'd be grateful if you folks would tune in, you may get something out of it!

Feedback is welcome!

Thread moved by j0rd (Forum Moderator): 'Discuss Anything'' as I feel it is more suited here.

Just trying to give as much advice as we can. No matter how big or small the problem.
Maybe things people want to ask in Health, Life and Relationships but are too nervous?

All professional help lines are anonymous though too :P
Idk, i just don't think you're experienced enough to answer people questions. dont want to patronise you though :(

I'm sure if they're too scared to type it out, they wouldn't want to voice it either. Good luck though!

I know they are but maybe people want to speak to another person around the same age range?
I think we'll try to put our opinions, thoughts and advice across as best we can.
Who knows? If it works out, we could get someone a little older (like an older member of Habbox) to come on air with us and answer some questions.

If it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't. No harm in trying ;)

Is there a rule about multiple accounts? So people wouldn't be able to make a fake username on the forum.
Maybe people don't want to type it out under their username and instead, would rather stay anonymous. Thats a lot easier via the shoutouts than the forum.

As I said. Its worth a go ;)

Inseriousity.

I highly doubt Connor or any DJ is saying they're an expert. Regard the agony aunt show as something more like peer mentorship rather than a helpline with professionally trained counsellors and you might be less pessimistic about it. We're looking at introducing more things around listener interaction and getting them involved and weekly shows that don't revolve round a particular music theme so HabboxLive should be applauded for putting their neck on the line and giving it a go.

EDIT: CALUM LOLOL my bad sorry

It's always a good idea to try something new, especially since the radio is around so long now that it lacks originality but I do agree with @e5 (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=30040);. I suppose it really depends what's going to be discussed. I wouldn't really want to tune into a radio that's trying to give advice to a teenager about how he can overcome the emotional side of the death of his tiger stripped cat, Tony.

In my opinion everything discussed on the radio should remain positive as negativity rubs off on people. It's nice that you want to help people but I don't think a habbo station is the best way of doing that :P A local station around my way always do 'good news' in the morning, maybe you could do something like that? get people to call in and explain why they're feeling good or something?

---------- Post added 28-05-2013 at 09:31 PM ----------

I've spoken to Foregetfuhl; and we both think that the best approach is to try it. Wait 2 or 3 weeks then take a community vote to see if we should continue with it. Obviously if we get 2 listeners per week, that'll be a giveaway but we'd like to ultimately bring originality to the radio with a fresh idea for HabboxLive

e5

Agreed. Nice to have some variety to HabboxLive. It might pay off. You should also come up with other unique things that you could do as shows to gain listeners :P

Well I came up with this with the help of Foregetfuhl;. Hopefully other DJs will be coming up with the same because there is currently a push for some of our DJs to get some weekly shows going!

Yeah, get it done. Think having special shows that attract users will get us to listen in. If you found out what people like, and it tickled their fancy they might give it a tune-in, I know I would.

Defiantly. Especially with Summer holidays coming up, its important we get those listeners tuning into HabboxLive regularly. Heck, some fansites get 150 listeners on their weekly shows WITHOUT FAIL.

It is but that show has always been popular due to it being Wengles and also the fact that Marytn aka Inthelittlewood is quite popular on YouTube and is part of the Yogscast team.

But they reached 101 listeners at 17:00. Strange considering no DJ is booked at that time on their timetable aha

I can remember someone trying this before on another fansite and ending up mucking it up, badly. These kind of shows are very hard to pull off, because of how personal they can be and how entertaining you can make them without being rude, insensitive etc. If they are done right, these kind of shows could be good but if they are done even slightly wrong they crash and burn.

A lot of these advice shows off habbo have professionals in to help them, and thats ultimately what makes these shows successful. I hope that your show goes well, I wont be listening because I have work but yeah good luck :P

Well it is lovely to see HFFM also agree that the idea is a good one due to them just doing a show - I'm sure ours will be better anyway.
Maybe we could get professionals in somewhere down the line but for now, it will be basic advice on homework and stuff like that ;)

HFFM's advice show is the definition of ****.
Would be a good idea somewhere down the line, I mean me and my friends have contacts to the medical industry. I am a connection to mental health and learning difficulties if you need anything on that etc. Yeah, its good that you're sticking to homework, revision based things to start. If you went straight into 'MY GIRLFRIEND LEFT ME FOR ANOTHER GIRL' that would pile on top of you and casue a few issues :P

They peaked at 28 listeners I think so yehhhhh...
I'll be in touch with you at some point - if the show goes well :)
I think sticking to the 'similar' stuff is a good enough start and with me and Dani doing it together, we can obviously give a view from both of our experiences.

On the subject of Habboxlive, can I point out that this advert on the habboxlive page is hideous:

http://i.imgur.com/IYvj5mI.gif

Someone has literally just stuck some garish text over the top of of a hideous gif. I know the HxL staff didn't make this or whatever but it is the most hideous things, don't know how you expect to attract listeners with things like this clogging up the page.

Don't know who to tag either. So yeah.

It was an ex-HxL staff who made it. Foregetfuhl;

Also, I wanted to check out the weekly shows, but when I clicked the page it didn't display any? Unless it's not been updated.

Although to be honest, the whole site is dated to about 4/5 years ago and is extremely old fashioned now.

Perhaps if you actually showed this on the website people would tune in for them?

I'm a fan of weekly shows (or I was when I tuned in for hxl) and I've never heard of two of these.

I will be sure to forward that to our Radio Management who can get them listed.
For now though. Tune into Dear Calum at 8PM :)

Personally? I'd disagree. All of the questions that were asked were within our scope.
You have to bear in mind that although I'm 14, my co-host was 18.

To be honest, I'd imagine if we were deadly serious, people would be bored out of their minds.
Regardless, we got the advice out and it was well received.

Why don't DJs get their managers to post in the CNB when there is a special show happening?
