The PSP is the latest must have hand-held digital device.
That is of course, until approximatly 45hrs 27mins 36secs.
Then you will get bored of it. [According to a Japanese Study]

But why is Britaina rip-off?

We, The Citizens Of Great Britain have to fork out £179 for the console.
Whereas, U.S.A only had to pay £129 [$179].

New Zealand being the dearest at £181.

Does anyone have an answer to this?

Yes, they may of payed little in OUR MONEY. But THEY don't pay using Sterlings, do they? They use dollars. And the dollars was $179.99. So it is the same as us really, we both have to fork out the same amount of money, just differen't currency's.

Lol, even though the $179 is the equivelent to £129, it still has no difference to the actual price.
American citizens still have to pay $179 which in perspective, is the same as us, its just that the pound is a powerful currency.

:S It's got nothing to do with different currencies. In most scenarios, products would be the same equivalent price across all countries.

Saying that it's £179.99 over here because it's $179.99 in America is complete rubbish. On that principle, Japanese people should therefore pay ¥179.99 (yen), which would of course be even more stupid, as that's less than £1.

£179.99 is not the same to us as $179.99 is to Americans.

For new games, you can purchase most on the from American internet stores for around $45, whilst we pay £29.99 from places such as Play.com. This works out about equivalent.

Perhaps there's a VAT difference between America and the UK; maybe they're manufactured closer to America and therefore shipping costs are much less.

And has any bright spark thought that being out for a number of months in America already could have lead to a price drop or two?

Oh, and anyone who thinks they'll catch themselves a bargain and buy an American or Japanese PSP, think again. Sony have made it illegal to import PSPs, and European bought movie UMDs won't work on it anyway ;)
