Wondering does it have to be factory specific? and how easy is it to fit them?

I've installed them into my desktop with no issue, I just got a random one and made sure it was the right size (inches).
i shouldn't imagine it being much harder with a laptop.

Any SATA laptop drive will work. It'll normally be the case of taking one of the backplates off and then just pulling the old one out and putting the new one in.

Really easy to fit, on mine, unscrew a few screws, pop the back on (usually a smaller bit), pull out the hard drive and pop in the new one lol, really easy :P

depends on laptop really, I've had to fix laptops which are dodgy as **** and require you to take the full of the back off to access anything
