All these insurance companies advertised on the TV rarely pay out and if they do it's usually a pre-owned phone. I'd look to get it with your bank or whatever etc. Some phone companies do insurance, I know I've claimed with EE a few times and got a new phone the next day (yesterday).

Usually your phone network will have an insurance crowd which you can opt in for a fee, maybe check that out and see what comes from it. Not sure if you'd get a claim that quick 'in a month or so..' :P

Technically you could get one pretty much as soon as you sign up (I believe they normally say 14 days) - but obviously it looks super suspicious if you claim straight away, and they'll definitely look into it.

If you have already broken it and want to try your luck, water damage the phone - probably the most likely way to get a new one, as they can't really check when it was water damaged..

Yeah the cover usually starts as soon as it's purchased, I bought mine recently and it said (14 days after purchase) although in the letter I got from them it said it was active from when I bought it. Some places are different.

Although if you're putting in a claim straight away, they'll think it's something fishy so bare that in mind. Water damage is a tough one as (most phones) have these filters in them so they can check how severely damaged it is, so they can easily repair that and not replace the phone. :P

But you could put it in a sink of water (meaning it would be totally irreparable), I guess :P
