On the recent blog post on Behind The Pixels (http://blog.habbo.com/2013/06/12/free-flow-chat-what-is-it-_really_-about/), habboprisim outlined what the dev team plan to do in regards to public rooms:
The old public rooms run on a different room engine than the rest of the rooms. Maintaining two room engines is not efficient and also means we have redundant code (increasing load times and potential bugs). Our goal is to bring back public rooms by filling them with activities, linking them to campaigns, and making them stand out with custom layouts and graphics. In the end it will be quite similar, but probably not identical. I’m sure this isn’t the answer your looking for, but I hope to at least get the message out that we care about bringing fun, popular, and exciting public spaces to the hotel.
This seems to be a deviation from their initial argument that the old public rooms clashed from the move to Flash client. I know maintaining two room engines 'Is not efficient' but that's what the public rooms were, this is what separated Habbo user-made rooms to Hotel rooms. They want to utilize the new Guest Room layouts (see the Diner - Fully Staffed room) and turn them into Public Spaces. Do you think this is a good idea? Are the old public rooms done and a thing of the past?
we only need 1 or 2 public rooms now cos there aren't enough users to populate them like previously. wat i like about public rooms is that they look different to private rooms and obviously hold more users. i hate the public rooms with actual furni in

Tbh the Welcome Lounge remake was pretty successful but the others were just a mess, but I think having some of them empty isn't the problem, they need to be designed better, I would go as far to say that having public rooms with only a few people in them at a time was sort of like the culture back in the day with a lot of the unpopular public rooms, a lot of members made them their home so to speak...

This is just insane tbh ive tried everything.. someone should make a video simply showing all of the public room aspects with messages from people wanting those rooms back. If they would actually listen to us they would at least try coding those rooms, which IS possible.

I'm thinking of taking things into my own hands and setting up a website to remind sulake how loved these rooms are, but I don't know how many people would have an interest in contributing to something like a gallery of screenshots to share your memories of public rooms.

I'm sure it wouldn't bother them to take a snapshop of them sending a message for 5 seconds then edit it all onto a video. And, there should be videos online of people playing wobble squabble and such which could work out.

The old public rooms did clash with the flash client. The flash client used a new room engine, in order to maintain stability between the shockwave and the flash client two different engines were maintained. once the shockwave client died, there was no reason to maintain them anymore.

I still don't see how people intend to bring back the rooms "exactly as they were" without reverting back to shockwave era. The public rooms look fine at the moment, there is nothing wrong with them (except the fact the lido got ruined) and the Welcome Lounge still remains popular.
Honestly public rooms are some of the least important issues at the moment.

Then why were we still able to access those rooms via link? If the rooms didn't work would you not be able to even click to sit/walk/etc? Everything was fine.

At the moment, no, but for the future of Habbo, yes. Habbo Hotel without it's own rooms?

why would they waste their time building more public rooms when the current ones (excluding welcome lounge) are always empty/low amount of people
the same goes with games, they won't bring back BB if no one plays SS

It's a loosing battle, there's little chance they will return as before.

Just sent Powertoo a huge essay on this, doubt she'll read it but there's still hope. The battle is not over yet, and I won't give up.

I know this may sound foolish.. but we should plan a protest in the welcome lounge of some sort regarding this issue lmao
