Justin Bieber in hit & run

Justin Bieber was under investigation for a possible hit and run accident involving a paparazzo overnight -- but police have now cleared JB of any wrongdoing ... TMZ has learned.

Justin was leaving the Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard around 11:45 PM in his infamous white Ferrari. His pal Lil Twist was there as a passenger, and several paps were on scene shooting the duo.

Once Justin got behind the wheel he motioned for some of the photogs to clear out of the way -- but when he drove off he appeared to pin one of them between the Ferrari and a parked car.

Justin did not stop.

LAPD launched an investigation and interviewed Justin a few hours after the incident ... and he told cops he didn't know he hit the photographer (not a TMZ employee).

Police say the photog was not seriously hurt, but was at fault because he was a pedestrian in the roadway.

So, Justin's in the clear ... this time.

Technically Bieber is at fault but because he's apparently famous he can get away with it. The Paparazzi being on a "road way" means sod all, seeing as Bieber must of seen him and as he is in control of a vehicle. It's why you can't willingly drive into any Tom, **** and Richard when they are crossing the road. Even though they shouldn't be on it (with American "jay walking" laws), he shouldn't be driving if he clearly couldn't see a man in a white shirt. Any other person would literally lose their license or be faced with a heavy fine.

And Christ alive, he drives a white Ferrari? Is it the one that seems to like spontaneously combusting? If so, let's hope his obvious drug taking habits help the car set alight while he is in it. The poor sod is so corrupted by fame that I feel very sorry for him. So sorry that I think leaving this mortal coil sooner rather than later would do him some good. Mostly for us, though.

I'm with Gomme here, you don't purposefully drive into someone regardless if they are in the road or not. Yes they shouldn't be there, but if you can avoid driving into them then you should...

If you people have the attitude of "Oh look a person's in the road, don't need to bother stopping or moving though 'cause it's not my problem" then you should really re-evaluate your thinking.

I was thinking the same thing with the laws of Hit and Run. If this was a normal civilian case, the driver would be charged with hit and run.

There are a lot of scenario's in which the hit pedestrian could have won the court case, but with someone in such high tax bracket as Justin Bieber, the court will most likely always be in favor of JB.

He did. If he didn't purposely drive into him, then he shouldn't be driving because if he cannot see a man in a white shirt in front of him then he is a danger to society.

The guy was stupid for getting in the way, yes, but Justin is in the worse position. If he doesn't want that kind of attention he shouldn't be driving a Ferrari. It doesn't matter if somebody is standing out infront of your car taking photos, running them down is horrific.

"In the way" being the key factor. If Bieber is hitting people in the way of him then he shouldn't be driving. Then you have to consider he did not stop at the scene of the incident. Driving off makes it a hit and run, and a more serious criminal offence.

The man in the clearly visible white shirt isn't a midget. He's in a Ferrari, even a midget can dwarf it (pun intended). He's guilty, and should be put to death by chronic bumming in prison, if anyone will have him (or hasn't had him).
