Sorry there Sherlock! This has been a glitch for quite some time, and I remember doing when I came back a few years ago. We did it with the pool chair/ surfboard. You sit on one end, then rotate it till it glitches.

But yes, because this glitch has been around for years... other ways of manipulation with it were found... and using this glitch you can SWIM ON LAND! =]

Here's a little tutorial for you:

Swimming On Land:
What: This allows you to be in the swimming state outisde of the waterpatch area!
Need: At least one water patch (any type) and a 2seater-sitting state furniture (One that is allowed to be placed on water).
How: You need to place the 2seater item on the water patch and then rotate it repeatedly (Either by someone else's hand or by using Wired to auto-rotate with a 0.5 timer); you must now sit on one of the sides of the furniture that will make you be in the water half the time (While it rotates); next, while the item is off you and your head is off, move off the sofa STRAIGHT onto dry land - you should now be swimming in land! (Might need to try a few times).
