Yes, but can we buy the rentable space furni for other habbos to pay you for a rented area in your room?
Or will habbo staff own these rooms for people to rent?

Yeah the only thing I can thing of is like a market room where people can essentially set up their own 'market stools' (so just drop the furni they're selling lol) or a camp site where people can like, rent a place to stay :P? It could be quite useful for rooms like that, but really depends how exactly it's gonna work.

They look like they could be fun for camp out style rooms and stuff, but looks like they might be used more by arcade owners renting out space lmao

Best idea for this if anyone's got the Cs is to lay out a nice road in a grid, (like in the picture) and a few corner lamps, plant beds etc, nice sleek city scene.

Then each rent space is sold, bought, and the owners are encouraged to build skyscrapers on each plot, giving a working city complex where real estate actually exists - all the more workable if you could sell all the furni in the space with the rent also. This way you've got cities where everyone is controlling their own plot and not interfering with others, that'd be a beautiful room to behold. I'd get in on that if anyone wants to set one up, consider me your first client.

Saw it on another fansite. Looks really interesting and promising. I think the premise is to replicate a real festival. You get some tiles in a room not owned by you to put your own furni. People could make huge shops like this. You put in your own furni to sell and the room will get popular because it has 10+ slots so 10+ owners. Same for casinos.

Could totally revolutionise one of our oldest games too - carnival. Could all be hosted in one room with teleports to each perimeter.

Puhekupla have also added the following:

Hiya!

So in the last week or so, Habbo has released exclusively to fansite staff the ability to test some new features.

These features are called "Rentable Spaces".. to go along with the Habbo Palooza campaign going on, there are 6x6 & 4x3 spaces (images below) that you are able to rent, for the time of 10 hours. In this time you can drop any furni (that isn't black listed e.g. wired, trax, black holes) however the furni items can only stay in the selected space you've rented.

Rather than a whole bunch of text, here's some pictures to see what's going on!

These are still in development and might change etc.

Haha I never thought of that, surely either you won't be able to use furni which can affect things outside the little box or the wired would only work in the little space? I wonder if the room owner can keep some fixed furni down like patches and stuff so it still matches the rest of the room.

Why would we need this?
How can this be useful?

Answer here:

"From 5th to 28th July, Habbo invites you to enjoy the 1st edition of a festival that brings VIP visits, music videos in rooms and unforgettable moments in our massive virtual campground. Be one of the first to take a place in the Festival Rooms for you and your friends. There are a limited number of spaces available so be quick. Habbo Palooza officially starts in 1 week and we'll even have some pre-festival acts to get you in the music mood! To the festival"

You will be able to rent out spaces in the Habbo Palooza main stage room for yourself and friends during the festival events, I like the idea - real camp style festival.

I know this because I'm one of the 15 BETA testers for the helper tool and asked powertoo about the RS BETA

You spent 30c on a plot of land (alongside FREE available areas to stand)
that will only lasts 7 days to skip a queue (that comes with a spectators option)
to see a line up of unknown bands such as 'room 94'.

So glad I'm not the only one that sees it this way, I brought it up yesterday with a fansite owner and they got funny with me about it lol. I sent powertoo a long rant over im, saying how extremely unfair it is that a select few are getting to test these things - and not only that they are being given exclusive rare badges for basically doing nothing. I wouldn't have an issue with it if they opened up a poll for everyone and selected people randomly, but no they're selecting fansite owners which is unfair.

Unfair in the sense that they are being given badges for testing things - fair enough, let them test I don't care... But don't give them exclusive badges for it, everyone should have the opportunity to try and get a badge.

But they didn't do essentially nothing. The Habbos that were chosen were experienced Habbos, if you read the blog post you can see that most contributed towards ensuring the feature worked for other Habbos; those that didn't did not get a badge. And that's all they got, a badge. You need to let it go.

Small target groups of experienced users are essential to get out features for the rest of the hotel, they could not have possibly had a large open group for everyone to join with some of the reported errors, disconnections etc would've been an absolute nightmare to try and handle with a larger group. The group was exclusive to ensure the rest of you could continue to play properly.

Habbo should of had a beta testing group, could of been done in two ways, applied like the room building group or a free to join group like with the free-flow chat.

That's not how free-flow chat started though, originally that was a very exclusive group as well; infact it had less members than the rental spaces did. The "open-beta" group was introduced as a way for people to slowly move over to free-flow chat by themselves. Applying for membership to the group would've taken time that the developers did not have, infact if you read the blog comment dmitrym comments on how difficult it is for him to ensure that this is all working in such a rush.

I hadn't seen the blog post until it was mentioned here but now I have looked you can see that those who helped report bugs got the badge. If you do a badge scanner on everyone in the testing group then not everyone got badge. In fact, a minority of the group got the badge. I don't work for any fansite and have no interest in doing so but I fully support them getting a badge. They have spent their own time / effort to make the feature more workable / enjoyable for us and what a fantastic feature I think it will prove to be.

If people are that upset about a badge, they really need to take a step outside.

Astronomist

@Abdicators nothing you can say will make me think this is fair... You may say that fansite owners are "experienced" players but I disagree, pretty sure I have been playing much longer than most fansite owners and know a lot more than them. And at the end of the day, it's a pointless feature - there isn't a need for it so I don't understand why it was introduced in the first place. But at the end of the day, exclusive badges should not be given for beta testing... They're testing something, they shouldn't be expected a reward and they shouldn't be given a reward.

The fact you've said "pretty sure I have been playing much longer" is a sure indication that you're simply jealous and upset that you never received the badge. At the end of the day, it's a badge. The feature is actively being used in the hotel, and for all you know could well be received very positively and implemented into many more rooms; just because you don't see the need, does not mean there isn't one.

Here's the thing, if there was a truly random poll there was a chance we would've ended up with "MissSallyNewUser8123" and whilst i'm sure she's a great lass, she doesn't have the experience nor the furniture to take part in the testing that was required to ensure everything that worked (or didn't work!) was highlighted quickly.

The testers that did not put time into testing rentable spaces did not get a badge, only those that devoted their own time into it for a feature that the rest of Habbo can now use, that is worthy of a badge. In the same sense that you spend most days completing quests or taking part in room design competitions, that use of your time results in you receiving a badge. The use of their time here, got them a badge. There's nothing else to it.

I haven't read any additional info on this Heya test , but I imagine fansite owners were ALSO chosen because the top 4 sites have quite active forums in which the owners can gather masses of feedback from other users. Which is easier and (potentially) less bias than non fansite owners simply providing their own limited opinions.

Fffs people complain that badges mean nothing anymore and then snap out when certain people get badges that no others could get (which consequently gives the badge more meaning as its rarer , thus destroying their original argument??)

Think I'm sensing jealousy

Not jealous no, annoyed that I wasn't given the opportunity to even apply. And yes it's just a badge, but some people such as myself collect them - so we view it as unfair when badges get given out without everyone having the opportunity to try and get it. There's plenty of badges I've missed out on - but I had the opportunity to get them so it's not that big a deal.

Don't see the issue with new users testing things, they're just as able to report bugs as others. Can understand the furniture aspect, but they can restrict the system and only let habbos with a certain number of hours / items to participate.

Don't try and compare this to building a room, seriously - just don't. It's not in the same league. It never will be. Building a room takes hours of design decisions, and testing out different things. Mindlessly dropping items in a box is no where near as skilled or challenging.

Thanks everyone! Badges and HC membership for those who found the nastiest bugs will follow shortly.
Some of them will also get HC membership lol. But I've bolded the important part which shows that not everyone who was given access will get rewarded :P.

That just makes it worse lol, so it wasnt even a surprise "thanks for testing" badge, they had incentive lol...
