Film/TV/Anime suggestions

No point making another thread in anime sub forum so any suggestions? I can't really specify what I don't like as I like quite a variety of genres, but I can say I don't like a ridiculously happy ending that makes no sense so basically a good story would be nice.

I recommend Death Note and Neon Genesis Evangelion if you like clever, psychological storylines that make you think.
