i've just moved into our house & we need to get broadband, any recommendations on broadband? need cheap & fast haha

looked at virgin media but i've heard virgin media is crappy for internet

our rent company has given me £180 towards it for the year but i'm sure my housemates won't mind putting a bit more in so somewhere around £250 for the year/£20 a month would be good

also wireless is a must if i have to use another ethernet cable again my head will pop

plusnet. so cheap but so good, so reliable.

If you've got more then I'd go for BT, infinity and stuff.

Sky Fibre is good but it's £20 a month with £14.50 line rental.

http://www.sky.com/shop/broadband-talk/fibre-optic/

We've got it and it's very fast.

Plusnet aren't bad, my Mum stupidly moved to them from Virgin. We had problems with our plusnet router thing however they changed it and it was all fine.

I've seen lots of people complain about virgin based on personal experience... im sure a few on this forum have said so too , talktalk customer service is absolutely dreadful. I'm with Sky which I haven't found to be that great - so it looks like people saying plusnet could be on the right lines idrk.

It depends where you are as well. Plusnet is the best for where I go to uni because they're good at servicing more far-out places, but in bigger cities I guess it wouldn't make much difference.

For me it's all about customer service, from experience EE (orange) and talktalk are both undeniably crap, and plusnet have been more than incredible so far!

Would recommend Virgin, decent prices with good speed, never had a problem here on the 60MB Package, I can't even remember ever having an outage.

For a while in the past I had a problem with Virgin Media but maybe for around a year there hasn't been any problems. Think the problem was that we had old equipment and they had to update it or w/e.

I would suggest either BT, Virgin or Plusnet.

I have TalkTalk and they've always bent over backwards to help me out, that said we've had this account (and this package) long before they bought AOL out so I guess they just want to be nice to us to keep our business.

I'm moving into a house of 8 for uni and we're going with Sky because it seems to have the fastest connection for where we are. Just shop around :).

Virgin Media for cable or BT for Infinity/ADSL.

Everyone else uses BT's network anyway.

Virgin Media for cable or BT for Infinity/ADSL.

Everyone else uses BT's network anyway.

They don't use BT for ADSL(2) if they have LLU presence in the exchange. Unless you're counting the phone line itself.
