View Full Version : Events Department: Fix lines. Fix hosts.

I've been at a few habbox events lately.
Whilst in line I've been diaged by over three people, I spoke to one events host about this and asked him to place seats in the corner. The events host did not. I also asked why he is allowing people to continuously diag me, with no reply.
All I ask for habbox events is to put seats in the corners, and if for whatever reason they can't do that, at least take action against skippers... I'm sick of being skipped in events.
Some could say not to go in a corner of a line, but most of the time it's automatic. You don't even mean to... This is more aimed at games that has a limited amount of people to play and has walkthrough off.

This isn't the best of options... I don't afk, and I shouldn't have to keep spam clicking the line.
The best options:
A: A straight line
B: A wired line
C: Chairs in corners
D: Moderate the line

Yeah they could just drop a seat or have the line end just before the corner which would be much more practical but no that's too easy for HxEvents :8
for hxss i think we're supposed to use larger rooms and make sure the queue's are long so there's no people missing out on anything (and people don't moan as much) lol and i'm not sure who's events you're talking about but i'm certain the same doesn't apply for every host so there's no point telling us that the hosts need fixing. if you've got a problem you should speak to smurfed- about it but overall i don't think it's a major problem that needs sorting out
also shut up Intersocial; u douche :\

Tbh putting seats in the corner is a very stupid idea, though you should not put rollers in the line if you are having no seats as then people can get forced into the corner Corners in the line act as a brb spot for people without getting kicked, and it's not fair to make someone go back to the very start of the line just cause they need to brb like 1 minute when they are quite a long way down it, and if you don't want to get diagged you just don't stand in it it's not hard.......
I personally always do straight lines anyway though and just have lines where you can move something so the person can walk around (or have walkthrough games). At least with hxss lines should be big and straight though hopefully

If the host lets people stand 1 square before the corner then it's fine. But whenever I used to host events I'd always have a straight line - makes it much fairer. If an events host really needs a queue that isn't straight, though, then seats in the corner should be in existence in such room.

i get that all the time it's so annoying :l
i've always been a fan of rollers in the line tbh, it means that those waiting don't actually have to actively pay attention and things like this just don't happen. Furthermore it also shuts up the annoying "OWNER KICK THE BLOCKER" users who drive me mad.

I try to do straight lines when I'm hosting. It's not feasible in some events though, and helps to have a space-saving line too.
When there's a corner I just don't stand in it or people will (try to) diag me. If I do a corner, I do have seats, but people do often AFK on them anyway.

Perhaps if you read my thread...
And either way, hosts should actually host. If they're not willing to redesign a room to make a straight line, or place chairs in corners, or make a wired line disallowing blocking which would take very little wired, then why are they hosting events. I mean all of what I'm saying will help them rather than moderating the line constantly. But of course, moderating the line is an option...

The problem with straight, long lines, is that people can AFK in the MIDDLE, or the BEGINNING of the line and it ***** everything up. Like, moreso than a curvy line. Moderating a straight line is no easier than a rounded line.
Most hosts who have those lines do an extremely good job of moderating the AFK-ers, and really most Habbos know not to stand in the corner or risk being cut.
How would a wired line work? I don't get how it would stop blocking without using a hell of a lot of wired and some of us don't have endless amounts of credits to build rooms & give out prizes...

then the ultimate problem arises of "i want to brb for 1 minute but if i do ill just be kick or resetted to back of line if afk". curved lines do have a function and if someone is stupid enough to stand in corner then more fool them imo. As laura said straight lines just cause people to afk in them and cause more of a nightmare than in the first place (either kicking them and having them moan or trying to move things so people can get around)

Could just have rollers to solve that problem :P.

I think this is a very fair request and i have no idea while people are making a big deal about it.
I'm going to put chairs in the rooms that have lines with corners from now on.
Thanks for attending and for the feedback. :)

Am I being stupid or something? To the people that says straight lines cause afking, well that's wrong. I'm pretty sure you can afk in curved lines :P
And secondly, even lines with curves can still have people afking in the straight parts and cause an issue? I think it is in an issue personally, punishing someone that only checks if the line has moved once every 15 seconds...

I don't see where the problem is? All the events I've been to have had smooth lines, and if anyone AFK'ed, the host did a good job of removing them to keep the line going. Just don't stand where you can be skipped over, simple as that.

A One Way Gate would probably help too in the line, but then you have people not knowing how to use them.
All the lines should be made longer and that will solve all problems (as long as you have walkthrough off). If someone goes AFK then they're going to get kicked it is a habbo rule.

I've seen this being improved already, so I wouldn't say it's the worst problem in the department currently.

Just to add, I know most hosts (myself included) will be more than willing to listen to feedback during the event. Asking us to put a chair in the line is fine! And I'm sure they'll do it when they get 2 seconds (end of a round or something).
My issues, and when I stop listening, is when people start screaming and shouting and being a 2 year old about it. If you want a pod in the corner, ask politely. Whisper to the host saying "Hey dude, could you put a pod in the corner of the line to stop people skipping the queue please?"
Someone did it during my giveaway the other day, very polite and I did it. No fuss. Some events players (some from Habbox also) have a habit of being rude, kicking off and just generally being an annoyance. That doesn't get you anywhere.
TLDR: Politeness goes a long way.

I kind of get annoyed when I get skipped and the person who skips me gets the last spot in the game from now on host should always put a chair in the corner for games that only can have a required amount of people.

I asked the host politely twice and told him that I've been skipped twice nicely. Then after ignoring me, I said it the 2nd time. Then after continuing to ignore me, that god me mad. The host clearly saw what I was saying, since there was little typing in the room and he was active hosting an event :L...
