About time they clear things up that are not needed anymore, for example this: a button to go to forums when they're not coming back.

How often did you visit the forums? It was only in 2012 that they decided not to moderate them hence the abuse. Quite amusing that your post itself oozes ignorance

I came back to Habbo after a almost 4 year break, so mid sept 2011, saw the forums filled with race-baiting homophobic sexism then too and nothing was done unless you reported the post (hardly any one did), and most of the boards were 'exposing' other habbos and telling people to go to habbo tumblrs where underaged elicit material of users were uploaded to, it was like a freaking cyber bullying free for all, so i just assumed that's how it's always been, apologies for my ~ignorance~ and whoever thinks a forum of that magnitude can be self-moderated by teens is an idiot because all of y'all fed off drama and don't lie and tell me you tried to step in and stop it from happening because NO ONE DID.

1. Nothing is done even on the client unless you report the person
2. Same things happen on the client, bullying, sexist remarks...oh and the tumblr links you are talking about..do you not realise that they started on the client and then moved on to the forums
3. "Self-moderated" really lol, so by your definition even the client is self moderated, in fact it is more self moderated than the forums because of the Guardian system. The moderation was not as bad as you think, posts were almost immediately removed and bans used to be given (I myself have gotten a 1 month ban)

See as you said you came back in habbo after 4 years..You never really experienced foruming so you cannot assume it was full of trolls and bullies. It was just like any other forum so making an opinion just because you happened to visit one day is unfair. 90% of the friends I made through Habbo were on the forums, and by the way..I have personally experienced much more bullying in the Public rooms you seem to be quite in love with.

Bullying in the public rooms skyrocketed after the forums were removed, and that's a fact. All the "e-fame" kids who were viciously calling others words I can't repeat on here, boasting about getting arrested, making fun of people's weights, everything was w@$#$#k bait on the forums. All the "top most talked about" list that Habbo had for forums, were all w@$#$#k bait. It was way, way worse on forums. The guardian system is so flawed you have got to be joking. I've gotten muted for literally nothing, repeatedly, it's just people clicking 'bad' without reading the issue. When teenagers moderate something 99.9% of the time, they're trolling. That's why I'm really FOR the Hobba-like application for older users to monitor the forums (if they came back) and older users monitoring in-client because the mods don't even visit rooms or walk about the hotel anymore. Stop giving teens trust if they're going to mess it up for the rest of us.

I'm happy you made friends on the forums in the past, but no one's doing anything about he trolls. I've experienced bullying in the public rooms too, and you know what? Muting helps, and so does banning them perm from your room.

So....the people who bully are to be blamed, not the forums lol?

The issue is whether forum system was working or not and it was, if you think this is bad you should've seen the new forums on Habbo.es....porn, gore was all over it and Habbo was allowing them to post pictures and videos. Now if this is the excuse they make that forums are not coming back then clearly they contradicted themselves. Just in case you didn't know...there was an option of private foruming too..which meant the threads and posts were not visible in the community page, that was an amazing option and troll proof. In fact most of the major discussion groups were private (Chapter, AU Group, Newsie, Warzone)

Anyways my point is, trolls are everywhere, there just needs to be a way to stop them which the Habbo forums provided (until 2012 anyway)

I knew there were private foruming. The problem was the trolls running rampant on the main forums and were the most visible. The problem. Is. The. Trolls. Taking over forums. I just don't see why Sulake would want to re-introduce something that would bring them back (while well intentioned) when Habbo moderation is understaffed as it is. You think guardians would help patrol the Hotel? Wishful thinking, mate. Trolls are everywhere, I know this, and Habbo needs to get a grip and so something about it. More Hobba-like would be ideal. I have zero trust in teens on the Hotel now.

There were moderators on the new forums on Habbo.es though, so I don't see how moderating the forums will be such a big issue, and I do not want guardians on the forums, the system has clearly failed and is a burden even for the client.

On uservoice the idea of bringing forums and guestbooks back had got 6k votes and had got accepted by Puffin before Uservoice was removed last year. I reposted the idea again and it currently has 600+ votes so it's clear that it's not like only a small proportion of habbos used the forums

i loved the forums and want them back for that community but the moderation of them was awful

like once in very very very rare circumstances u would see people banned for exposing. trolling/racism/homphobia and pretty much anything u would get banned for in client wouldnt apply on the forums.

Honestly, the forums were never the same like they were before the merge. I mean there were some decent people on the forums, but there was a lot more debaucheries taking place, and very little moderation to be present.

the forums were better then most fan site forums.

If there brought back there should be extra control to be able to appoint members as moderators of your own group.

i think the reason why the forums on habbo were better than any fan site forum was DUE to the lack of moderation.........

forums and guestbooks were one of my favourite features on habbo i agree with karter with what he is saying
like you said trolls are everywhere you shouldn't just slate forums because of them, forums were fun and kept things interesting

Are you joking?

The US forums alone were never moderated whatsoever... So many underage nude exposures and harassment took place, it'd take moderators ages to respond...

In fact they were overmoderated lol.. every post was blocked as 'Inappropriate to Hotel Management' no matter what the nature of the post was, and like I said I got a one month ban for posting something mildly offensive (not any kind of links etc) so idk what you're trying to say

Sulake chose to remove the forums because they no longer had the resources (full-time moderators) required to run a safe, clean forum. Back to 2009 and earlier, the forums were a great source for Habbo gossip and discussion. I used them regularly. There was a helpful group called 'answers' that devoted time to publishing all the solutions to Habbo quests as soon as they were released. There was another group for rare values. And another for badge collectors. And tons more for plain old socializing. I think the forums were a wonderful feature because they enabled people from all over the hotel to gather and express their views in a formal setting. On the client it'self, it's nearly impossible to get full thoughts out because of the speed/length of text bubbles. I think they should be returned to us with the same filter that the client uses in order to minimize bullying/trolling.

Answers was probably the forum I was most active in, followed by Outback. Both great communities. It's a shame that it appears they won't ever return.

They weren't moderated whatsoever, just moderators auto-moderating to sort through everything. If a post was reported, then once the mod would get to it, they'd flag the post as inappropriate without even reviewing it.
