I have not being an active user of the hotel since about 2009 now, infact today was the first time i had logged on in about a year! Currently there are 4,400 users currently on the hotel, whats the average amount of users online these days? Because i remember pre-merge when it was just the UK there could be between 5,000 - 10,000 online. Its all the hotels in one now and theres only 4000 odd, has it lost that much popularity?

What about fansite wise? There doesnt seem to be half the amount of online users on here that there used to be

Birmingham City FC;

Last year from the 12th June to 6th July the .COM Hotel was muted (this also expanded to every single Habbo Hotel) thus no one could speak and basically players lost interest as you couldn't do anything on the client. After this the online count decreased a lot and an incentive was made that if they got 6000 online or something they would release this rare fountain; it still hasn't reached 6000.

The mute is one of the main factors as to why there aren't as many on anymore, but others include various updates, and the removal of some things, features such as events were removed during the merge and a paying service was made. Before you had to pay 1 Credit to 'promote' your room and now it costs Duckets, a new currency. Not only that, but Pixels were also removed making it harder for newer players to start out thus they lost interest.

Also, since the mute, Minimal hasn't returned alongside Guestbooks and basically the only thing needed on Habbo now is the Client and not the me pages or home pages as they don't work either.

Fansites went through a lot, the old CEO Paul LaFontaine didn't agree that fansites helped and believe that they took away Habbo players when it was really the opposite. Eventually they started taking more notice in fansites, usually giving 1 fansite an event per week, so they could get their name known. They also gave the incentive of badges to players for them to win. This still continues and one of the only things that has improved is fansite and Habbo interaction; they're beginning to care more about them again.

It's not the same especially when Habbo floors & patches are so freaking expensive now

I think one of the main problems is the average habbo player is getting older. The over 18's have been playing habbo since it first became huge, and now these people are reaching their 20's and leaving in droves. The hotel is now too complicated to attract the younger generation. It was really simple when we first began playing.
